  1. ah that's why. gotcha. well, as other have said already, it probably will work. and if you're on a budget you're on a budget, nothing you can do about that. all i said was be aware that a low end board like this although it will work, might not last as long as a high end board.
  2. does it happen in applications that aren't games? like in Chrome for example?
  3. it's a 5% difference apparantly. https://technical.city/en/video/GeForce-GTX-1080-vs-GeForce-GTX-1070-Ti not enough i'd say to spend the $30 more for the 1080. it also depends on the rest of your system. what cpu do you have?
  4. does it happen in all games or just this one game? does it do this while you're for example using chrome?
  5. why do you want UEFI? CSM works fine. and the wifi is just a driver issue. what wifi card do you have?
  6. stupid question but have you reinstalled the gpu drivers? that might fix it
  7. it probably will work fine, but i'd advise against it. i've used a cheap board like that on a 7th gen i5 and that board died after like a year. wether a board will work is not the only thing to consider. higher end boards in my experience last longer. i'm currently running a 4670K in a Z-series board from the era, still totally fine. that's a 10 year old setup at this point. for your usecase i'd advise spending a little bit more and getting the next tier up in the intel chipset range, whatever they call it now. super cheap stuff is just... you get what you pay for lol.
  8. maybe go through the standard steps first. reseat the ram, check temperatures of everything...
  9. that could just be clock speed. racing games really like high clocked cpu's, you can only get so much out of a mobile chip in a thin laptop before it overheats...
  10. fun fact, Windows 11 runs smoothly on my (overclock but still) 4670K. i've seen Core 2 Duo machiens running windows 10 relatively fine too, as long as they have more than 4GB of ram. debloats Windows, installs Origin. bruh
  11. or maybe just run normal Windows? lmfao
  12. not to mention laptops. you'll be running at 80c all the time like that...
  13. that's very easy to bypass. i'm running Windows 11 rn on a 4670K
  14. it would to get dual channel, or if you're using integrated graphics. but yeah considering the point of the video 12GB ram is plenty, even for regular bloated windows 10...
  15. that's a perfectly fine computer still. don't believe everything LTT says. as long as it does what you need it to do it's fine.
  16. 4670K is awesome. mine is paired with a GTX 1060. i can't run Linux on this computer (i have a dedicated Linux computer, an old Mac Pro 2008 8-core lmao) because my favourite game (Overwatch) doesn't like Linux much. to compensate for the windows bloat i overclocked the cpu to 4.3ghz all core, still runs like a beast even on Windows.
  17. meanwhile me still running a 4670K. on windows 11 too, doesn't even run that bad...
  18. oh also what thermal paste did you use? some thermal paste is conductive, which would explain this as well.
  19. my music taste has shifted a lot lately, and i've decided to cancel spotify for that reason. i've already been getting fed up with spotify for a while now because they are doing some really stupid UI things, and they want to incorporate video. why? just be a music platform dammit.

i have YT Premium with YT Music anyways, so i'm gonna switch to that. all the music i'm currently into (lately a lot of japanese metal) is on there, i don't need spotify for some music that is only there nowadays since i've stopped listening to that.

and, i'm gonna use the €10 i'd nomally spend on spotify each month and treat myself to a CD a month instead. better use of the money in my opinion, i get a physical item after all that i only have to pay for once.

wait until you hear that linux has had the ability to do separate OS and /home partitions for what? 30 years? lol. Apple isn't new to this idea, just saying.

I saw a little old netbook in the mall today, i…

it can for sure. pihole runs great on my Pi 3, which has only 1gb of ram. so should be possible if you were to install linux on the netbook.
  23. i'm in the netherlands, down for me too.
