i have officially done the cheapest thing ever. i needed a second pc for my multiplayer setup downstairs which looks like this:
but that system on the left is in a case that i lost the side panels for. so i just taped it shut. i used black tape on the side with all the cables and transparant tape on the other side so it has a sidepanel window now xDD

Now run the two systems off of the same PC on a hypervisor, with two GPUs in the same tower. And all the janky tape. Become the ultra-cheap :3

@Windows7ge that was me

Sorry to commandeer your Status Update but you getting me started down this path went WAY farther than I had any intention for it to.
So not only did I learn how to set it up on my desktop.
Not only did I learn how to set it up on a server distribution (PROXMOX)
Not only did I use it to pass an HBA to a VM.
Not only have I written a full tutorial or two on how to set it up:
SpoilerNot only did wkdpaul pin it in the Guides & Tutorial Catalog
But through it all and an odd series of coincidences I've completely unintentionally been introduced to the author of Looking Glass and he/she now has me contributing Guides and Tutorials to the Looking Glass WiKi.
...crazy how things play out sometimes...

Yay!!!
On a side note, I'm being forced to hold off on my ESXi experimentation until I get the last two parts for my setup. Looks like @Windows7ge will have to cover my base until I get the final pieces...
