ok so I've made up my mind. I tried to switch to Windows one last time and again I ran into stupid crap.

why doesn't the volume control disappear when connected to my headphones over bluetooth? it literally stays on screen for a full minute or more and then it goes away and every time I click on a new thing that makes sound or adjust the volume it comes back!!!

also I still can't get over how annoying Windows 10 is. it installs crap without my permission and I just can't get over how annoying the settings still are.

so, I give up. this was my last try until I was just gonna sell all my Windows laptops and once again microsoft didn't tempt me to switch from my MacBook...

Yep, I know that feeling. I could rage quit every time I'd have to use a Binbows PC in school.

I fully switched to Linux now.

Most annoying thing about Windows 10, but you forgot the Windows Update that shoves everything down your throat, even when it's a feature breaking update, or even a BSOD causing update :(

@wkdpaul I haven't had an issue with updates in a long time. I don't mind automatic updates so that's not a complaint. what I care about is having fucking candy crush and shortcuts to office web apps in my list of installed programs on a windows 10 PRO install!!! how do Windows people accept this?

@Pascal... Linux doesn't do it for me. I need things like a word processor that doesn't brick the formatting of my documents like Libreoffice does sometimes... so Mac it is.

I use Google Docs for that.

Also how the fuck is it possible that Google Docs is so amazing and free and Cancersoft can't even manage to make usable Online versions of their own fucking Desktop Programms ?

@Twilight only had issues with Windows 10 auto updates once, but since it was a pain to fix, I've been VERY wary of it since.

@wkdpaul that makes sense. the fact that Windows still doesn't have something comparable to Time Machine 13 years after it was introduced is even more insulting.

like if my Mac bricks I boot to recovery, restore from time machine and after 2 hours it's exactly the way it was before the OS broke... Windows really needs to have that.

That's totally a thing on Windows (restore points), it just needs to be turned on and configured ;)

@wkdpaul iirc it's not as good as time machine. do you have an easy way to get to the restore points menu etc?

with a Mac you just boot to the time machine drive, hit restore and poof....

yeah, similar with Windows 10, it'll boot into restore and try to do the restore itself. Thing is, nobody really uses that feature (even me, I don't use it, while I just proved it would be really useful for Win10 broken Updates! lol)

Love Time Machine BTW, it's a better integration than anything MS has with Windows.

@wkdpaul that's interesting. If I ever use Windows again I'll enable that feature.

does it also have something else the time machine has, where I can go to a folder in finder, click the time machine thing and browse that folder in the past?

    WkdPaul

    Yup, that's in the file / folder properties, under the "Previous Versions" tab (again, it's something you have to enable and you need the drive space for that also) ;

It's not something I have enabled on my work PC, or home PC, but we use it on the company user's shared folders (so it's enabled on the file server). That saved our asses more than I can count (EDIT : by that, I meant we didn't have to go dig in the backups to find Karen's Excel file that she erased my mistake, most users are aware of that feature and how to get their files backup by themselves).
