my brother told me he wants to learn about computers and stuff, so i'll probably give him one of my old machines. just a build made up out of random crap i have laying around. 

 

specs will be something like this:

Xeon X5650 (not sure, maybe an L5630 or E5620...)

18GB DDR3

GTX 1050 or RX 460

a few 120GB ssd's in raid 0... 

 

something like that. it should be a good platform for him to learn about computers.

    yeah i learned on a Pentium 4 machine too. when i was about 13 that was what i could afford. i learned the basics of Linux on that thing.... good memories.
