Oh, don't get me wrong, not all 10:01 videos are bad. There's lots of quality youtube videos out there that run for longer than 10min, some that have mid roll ads, some that don't.

The problem is with trashy "Top 10 most unbelievable clickbait titles ever seen... You won't believe number 7!!!! OMG WOW!" videos that drag it out to 10min for the sole purpose of getting those profitable mid roll ads.

as far as I know the storage in the 2018 MacBook Pro is not user upgradable.

I'd say that machine will be a massive upgrade, yes. I personally wouldn't go for a Windows laptop if you're already deep in Apple's ecosystem so I'm not going to recommend anything from that side.

Frankly that is not bad as long as you are only trying to drive a single 1080p panel. That CPU should still be good for some time, and if it does start to slow down you can hit it with a nice OC on that cooler. Id say grab another 8GB of RAM, then wait for the NVIDIA 11 series cards. The 970 is starting to age, but is still not a terrible card.

what MacBook has a smart watch cpu in it. I'd love to see proof of these claims considering you're "not even lying"...

Yep, this is a bug. Only way to fix it is to downgrade. A Time Machine backup from prior to having installed the Mojave Beta will come in handy. 
 
You'll have to shut down the computer and do cmd+R to boot into recovery mode. From there you need to reinstall macOS onto your internal drive and then restore from your Time Machine backup. 

why don't LTT do a scrapyard wars where they buy/upgrade a Mac?

no bootcamp (dual boot Windows), macOS has to be used for benchmarks too. 
no hackintosh. it has to be a genuine Mac. 
 
bonus points for physical condition of the Mac.

You're running a beta. That's your problem. 

I would not trust that unit with a good dedicated GPU, with or without PCIe adapters.

If you have the manual, refer to that to see what the POST codes mean.(POST codes are the beeps).
 
 

do you have multiple displays? if i click on the search icon on my taskbar on my second display, my taskbar dissapears and then comes back.... 
 
if i maximize some programs i get a white bar at the top of my display. 
 
search is broken. 7z returns nothing, but 7zi returns the result for 7zip.

many laptops that are as thin as a macbook pro are not upgradable either. it's not just Apple. 
 
do i think it's a good thing? no... but that doesn't mean Apple is the only one who should be called out for it. 

honestly i don't like everything that Apple do either, but i'm left with no choice but using their products. 
 
like i'm paying Microsoft €145 for an OS and it doesn't even work properly and has (for me) deal breaking bugs...
at least macOS works properly.
 
EDIT: for the record, i use Windows on my desktop pc and macOS on my macbook, so i'm not one to hate on Windows for no reason, i use it everyday. 
EDIT 2: Windows is €145. i said €140 before by mistake.

Your PC is rejecting operating systems that disrespect your freedoms. Be thankful.

Sounds like it has a problem with a driver for one of the components. I know that doesn't help you one bit, but yeah, that's Windows for ya.
 
Start by removing all non-critical components (like optical drives, add-in cards not necessary for basic functionality like sound cards, graphics cards, special controllers etc.) and seeing if it'll work that way. Only remove the GPU if you have onboard graphics of course.

unless you have the knowledge to repair broken one's. my dual socket board came with a few bent socket pins that i managed to fix. 

Clean the sensor and your finger, also rescanning your fingerprint will help. 

i hated vista the most. soooo laggy

maybe put in the rules that they need a display and speakers too. then an imac becomes better value. 
 
not really. if you throw productivity into the mix a 2013 i5 imac is faster than a 2006 mac pro.

mac pro's (the old one's) are better than most Mac's. and i think cpu upgrades are fine for scrapyard wars. upgrading a 2006 mac pro with better cpu's is the same thing as putting a gpu in an old optiplex. 

because i think creators and website owners deserve money. i just don't like the way some websites do it. 
 
for example i'm totally fine with ads on for example youtube or on here because i get a lot of enjoyment out of the content. 
 
 
yeah but large amounts of moving ads eat my battery life.. isn't there another way?
