Gonna echo earlier sentiments: Minecraft and War Thunder will be fine in macOS, Apex will require one of your Windows PCs as you mentioned.

One thing I would add: I wouldn't get a Mac expecting to regularly play top-tier games.  You do get quite a few modern titles (Fortnite and Untitled Goose Game, for example), but a lot of the games tend to be indies, if frequently good ones.  You get a Mac because you like the OS and overall hardware -- the games are gravy.

Depending on the board they do this (include breakouts that you pin into then just insert to mobo) - I agree with @Twilight when I take my time I have fewer frustrations - when I (and I am the guy that loses his screwdriver the entire time) rush something I get all pissy and make mistakes.

How is this thread still going on?  If you don't understand the price, you don't understand business.  If you think its expensive, so do I - but its not expensive if it can make me more money over X period of time so that it turns a pure profit in X.  Plain and simple.  My brother and I just put together a Threadripper 2950wx recently with 128gb of RAM.  Prior we had a R7 1700 doing our video encoding and it was sufficient because that side of business work coming in was at a rate that the computer was idle more than in use.

Fast forward to 2 months ago and the $3000+ build wasn't even a consideration on the price as we walked out of Microcenter.  What was, was the performance.  It needed to destroy 4k video editing.  It does.  Its already paid for itself and is now turning pure profits faster than ever.  If the work gets to the point we need another (or better) guess what...price wont matter.  Could we utilize this subject system?  Hell no, not at all, so it would be a terribad investment.  That's all it comes down to.

not sure about that, but i did get a second 3GS gifted to me for my old devices collection with a cracked screen, so i took the screen from my old 3GS and swapped it over because the other phone still works fine, whereas mine has issues. that was surprisingly easy when i followed a guide on how to do it.

headphones agreed. computers no. Apple has done a great job with support IMO, my Mid-2012 MacBook Pro is still fully supported and considering it's an almost 8 year old laptop that's happy editing 1080p video in iMovie and running a Windows 10 VM in Parallels quite happily i think the computers are good as well. not so much the recent one's, although the 16" MacBook Pro is getting better again.

I run an iPhone X, Apple Watch Series 3, and mid-2012 MacBook Pro for work (I do have the option to upgrade to a 2019 13" with the quad core, but imma wait for the 13" refresh with the new keeb, current one is shit). My dad also runs a mid-2012 MacBook Pro, another guy at the office has a 2013 13", my dad has a 2012 iMac at home, an ex-boss still uses his 2015 15" as a daily driver and editing machine.

You'll find a lot of the people who actually use Macs for work tend to be quite reasonable lol. The PCs I have at home are where I get unreasonable ?.

    - machines similar from their main competitors in this market (HP, Dell etc) are the same price approximately that I've seen
    - it's not aimed at consumers, if you are a prosumer buy an iMac Pro
    - name a consumer machine that can handle 1.5TB of ram in practice
    - macOS has a value to pro's that need software that runs on it
    - there is a rack mount version, further proving that this is not a consumer machine

do I need to go on?

^^^ Yos. There's guys (IIRC Linus has done video on them) who have been stacking Mac Minis, trash can Mac Pros, and even iMac Pros with the displays ripped off, trying to find the best setup for their clients, who insist on actual mac hardware (and xserves have been out of date for uh.... a while at this point). They're probably pretty damn hyped for a rackmount Mac Pro, lol.

Ugh. Go buy enterprise/full on business-class professional hardware and software, get back to me. It's not for individuals. I've purchased $600 6' square plastic label printers for the company I work for and that's just standard accounting office gear.

Oh look, here's a camera body that costs within margin of error of the highest spec Mac Pro you can currently buy:

Almost like the people who need this hardware are fine with paying that price and they pay it for reasons that mean a lot to them but absolutely nothing to the average consumer because wow maybe they aren't average consumers and a computer or camera the cost of a pretty nice car isn't meant for average people anyways.

I personally think the price is absurd but i think thats the point, as an individual i think its absurd. A business that needs that power and reliability probably doesn't think its that bad.

Also machines for similar tasks from other companies such as dell aren't any better, actually more

Reasons for the Mac Pro being expensive:

    Assembled in USA
    Intel price-gouging Xeon's
    ECC DDR4 price being inflated
    Fantastic build quality
Fully modular designs are more expensive
Gen 1 product (we pay R&D. Same as with Galaxy Fold)
macOS License baked in to price
Dual 10GBe NIC (even on base model)

There is more, but I honestly CBA to repeat myself.

At a professional level I can think of a few reasons, one being it's a giant tax write off and another being that that kind of productivity could have a solid ROI, depending on what you're actually doing with it.

You're completely missing the fact that it's not really meant for individuals.
Yes, the top spec is expensive. However I bet if you looked to a comprobaly specced PC from Dell, the price would be similar, if not ridiculously more.
    Why?
Systems like that are meant for corporations, or people doing a significant amount of professional work. Since it's a tax write off, you can charge significantly more for it. Same with the price of the wheels. It's a niche part in an already niche market, thus, the price is higher. Judging by the performance increases over lesser machines, it's probably worth it for the people that are going to be spending the money.

Find me a consumer motherboard that can take 1.5TB of RAM. Oh right. They don't exist.

This will be a review of my Sony WH-1000X M3 headphones. I got them for my birthday on the 13th of September.

I used them in 2 ways.
    - While i was on the go, connected to my iPhone 7 or laptop via bluetooth.
    - While i was at my pc, connected to the audio output of one of my displays.

i primarily used them to listen to music using Spotify, and while using my pc i also watched youtube video's / movies (mostly MLP) and played some games.

    - sound quality i don't really have much to compare them to other than my OG MDR-1000X, and i can't really tell much of a difference. in a song like this:
all the vocals and especially the background instruments come through very clear, and overall any music i listen to with these sounds great.

    - noise cancelling. i travel by train a lot, and the train engines are quite loud and annoying. using these on the go is great. the train engines get almost entirely cancelled out, and most of the people talking also dissapears once you start playing music on top of the noise cancelling.

using these at work was also awesome. the noise cancelling with music over top completely cancels out noise around me, which is great for me, because i'm very easily distracted.
the best feature about the noise cancelling is being able to easily mute it just by putting my hand on the touchpad and then all of a sudden the music goes away, and i can hear the outside world again. this is great for example on the train when an announcement plays or at work when a colleague wants to ask me a quick question.

    - battery life, it is amazing. i didn't even have to think about it. i could go multiple days with 12 hours of use (not all of those hours with noise cancelling on) without being scared it was going to die on me.

    - comfort. i can easily listen to music with these all day without it getting uncomfortable.

    - overall: i highly recommend these headphones if you catch them on sale. at full price i find them a bit expensive.
