for the first time in like a year i've had a good time while building a pc.

i was asked to upgrade a pc for someone, it was buitl very poorly (hdd only half secured, psu from 10 years ago from a weird brand, etc) and i actually had a good time.

we had some dissapointments, the new gpu we ordered was used,a nd came witha  broken fan, so i had to replace that which required some soldering and stuff, but it's working just fine now. it's a fairly basic machine, it has a 1500X, 8gb of ram, an A400 ssd (ew i know), 1tb hdd, asrock board and originally a GT1030, now it has an R9 290X.

the stupidest thing is my janky fan fix which is jsut an old cpu fan soldered to the card and secured with zip ties actually cools better than my own stock 290X lmao.

also it was in a 15 year old thermaltake case, and it was super crappy (have i ever mentioned i hate thermaltake), so i transferred the system to a silverstone case, which is mATX. that's a lot smaller than the eATX cases i'm used to (i use those myself) so mounting everything was a challange, but i legitimately had a lot of fun building it and it turned out really well.

    A400 ssd

funny enough I was taking apart my kingston 128gb ssd now 200 (I only use it to store anime)

and each flash chip by my calculation would hold 16gb each and there is 8 chips
