that change YouTube rolled out recently where they marked 720p as non-hd is actually super annoying.

the reason why I'm irritated is because my MacBook, because it's old, only has a 720p screen. so, I now have to check everytime if it's running at 720p or 480p, because I only get that hd badge if I select 1080p which is pointless with a 720p display.

It would cost them exactly zero % effort to just change the red 'HD' marking to (for example) a blue "720p" marking.

Are there no browser extensions for Apple's browser? Firefox has a couple that let's you customize YouTube to your liking and you can also force settings like always play at X resolution.
