just fixed my best VCR, it had tracking issues, turns out it was just out of alignment.

Oh shit. Didn't realize you had yourself an S-VHS (well, S-VHS ET) deck.

@handymanshandle yeah, i really like it. the picture is great and i have a pro-logic surround amp and this works well with it.

the other VCR i have is a lot older, it's a Panasonic NV-SD240 and it still works well, but i'm gonna take it apart tommorow because i might ahve to relubricate some parts. it really struggles to get into high speed rewind and when the brake engages it makes an absolutely awful noise.

i'm keeping both of them on the setup as the panasonic does do some things better, namely rewind when i fix the mechanism, it's a lot faster.

Yeah, I really wanna look for an S-VHS VCR soon, especially since I have a tape I could use on them.

The two VCRs I own are both combo DVD/VHS units, one from 2005 or 2006 that basically was part of a home entertainment system, while the other one is one that can output HDMI. While the picture quality isn't crazy on either of them, the sound output on the one I typically use (the one with HDMI, a Toshiba DVR-620) is really good.

@handymanshandle that's cool! my TV is a CRT though so that's not of much use to me. i care about SCART lol.
