  1. well, I discovered something interesting about corsair mice. at least the M65 Pro. it doesn't work without the driver installed. it doesn't support legacy systems.

the story behind that discovery is that I found an old pyjama sam game in a thrift shop and I wanted to play it, so I dusted off my 1998 iMac, plugged it in and I discovered the M65 Pro does nothing if I plug it into that Mac. it lights up but that's it. nothing more. I have used USB optical mice with that Mac so I know the OS supports it (it's running macOS 9.1) but with that corsair mouse it just does not work at all which is annoying because I don't have another mouse...

You do realize no hardware works without a driver right? You don't need to specifically install one yourself on new OSes because they are included. You might get lucky with some hardware that uses some generic driver that has been around forever but anything somewhat "fancy" isn't going to use those.

@2FA right, but I've never had an issue with a mouse not working on that Mac, only with this one. aside from wireless mice with a stupid dongle which it does detect but won't let you move the moue up, only down and side to side, I've never had it not work with a wired mouse except this corsair one.
