  1. Return the phone to your friend. If you stole it you're an ass and if he sold a non-working phone to you then it's between you two to sort it out. If you had knowledge of this beforehand and still paid for it he wouldn't be entirely wrong in denying a return however
  2. Logitech makes solid keyboards. The market is now full of smaller brands making keyboards with better switches than Cherry (Cherry is very much overrated) and still great build quality. I don't know what's available to you, but I have lots of Gamdias boards available to me and they're all great. These things are some switches attached to a PCB in a box. The marketing will try to convince you otherwise, but it's not really anything that magnificent. Don't fall for gaming companies' silly prices and edgy marketing. A decent option that seems to globally available is Redragon boards, there are several that are essentially variants of the same thing, I used the Vara and the Kumara. Great build quality and switches are to taste.
  3. It's not worth it. For the money spent on watercooling you could just buy a new GPU and maybe even a CPU and mobo. Your current air cooler is also a pretty good one, so I wouldn't worry about it.
  4. I don’t really see people that way. Everyone has flaws, and I’ve never been like “wow I wish I could be just like x”. I find how people work very interesting, and extrapolating what allowed them their success from their personality is IMO more valuable than just saying you want to be like them. A lot of people I’ve dealt with turn out to be assholes, and many people turn into a role model for what not to be
  5. Everyone: We want a new Crysis that really pushes modern hardware! Rockstar: releases game that looks amazing where ultra is actually difficult to run for current gen Everyone: muh optimizations!
  6. I don't really agree with that. It's removing the human from the process, but not dehumanising them imo. Dehumanising would be something like saying it's okay for poor people to starve because they 'don't know any better', or the treatment of Jews in the 2nd World War as basically animals. It's a hot topic, but I think it's good to remove drivers from the equation. Properly managed, it can massively improve traffic flow and greatly reduce accidents because of networking between cars and better decision-making as a group. I understand that people like driving. I love it myself, but I'm willing to give that up because of all the benefits of self-driving cars (e.g. not having to buy a car or worry about maintenance because of fleet cars). Uber has not managed this properly at all. The lack of programming to look for pedestrians is pathetic, and this should never have been on a public road. Has any blame been assigned? It's going to be interesting how the (inevitable) are handled; do we assign all blame to the companies managing the cars?
  7. As someone not very experienced with servers: how much of a difference does ECC make? Many people seem to be fine leaving their computer on for a long time mining or rendering or something of the sort. When is it worth using ECC?
  8. You're going to have to build a good reputation in the local tournament scene before getting anywhere. From there try a local computer store or even just something else. You likely won't get much in return though.
  9. Just like 4 cores used to be more than enough...
  10. Why would anyone expect anything else..? Google thrives off of using your data to build algorithms. Of course there would be a rating system; how else would they manage something like YT Kids? I honestly thought this was common knowledge
  11. This person is going to the effort of writing in a language they likely do not feel 100% comfortable with. If you've ever bothered to learn another language you will know that it is a challenge to bring your point across clearly. Attacking people for trying to use another language is just sad, and discourages people from learning more languages. That said; if OP is a native English speaker that's also just sad ?
  12. Don't stress about the PSU. It's a high end PSU built to last. I believe they have like a 10 year warranty? The case is something you should be able to carry through multiple builds if you like it. You should be able to control fans from the motherboard, and if you have loads of fans you can just use splitters or a PCI controller
  13. Looks like ass, but hopefully the tech comes through. AR glasses are my dream
  14. My 6s Plus is still functioning like a new phone. Only downside is the camera is dated compared to modern phones, but it's fine for me. If they're not dropped, phones can last a long time, especially with Apple seeming to actually care about older devices
  15. Yo, all you people who think speeding is cool, and that you're so special that you can do it safely are dicks. Speed somewhere where you won't kill me when an accident happens, like on a race track, where speeding is the aim
  16. So how do we know if it's "real" 3nm. There's some confusion since the manufacturers seem to be define the size differently.
  17. Check out the used market. 1080ti's are listed for like 6.5k and that's before negotiation. Good deal for SA market imo
  18. If they tested it, and were happy and took it home they agreed to buy that product. It's no longer your property and they had plenty of time to check if it worked. I'd screenshot all chats just in case, but he's likely bluffing about court. There are plenty of stupid people out there, and plenty of crooks. This guy falls into one of those camps, and you can't let him bully you into giving him free stuff
  19. Imo they should've tried again. A phone with no gimmicks, good battery life, good speakers, a good screen, and an amazing camera. That's all people really want. Everyone complains about 'no innovation' but that sort of mindset just leads to crap like the One. They have the understanding to build a great cameraphone, but their understanding of the market just wasn't there. Also: respect to the guy for working for RED for so long.
  20. I've had inconsistent folding time the last few days due to brown-outs and needing my PC. I'm also in the midst of a heatwave . Hopefully I can get back to it properly for the remainder of the event
  21. Well, people play games because they enjoy them (or at least that's how it should work). If you don't enjoy them just don't play them. Take up an instrument or something. I think a lot of people aren't playing games like they used to because games just aren't as good as they used to be.
  22. I'd avoid them. I have a high-end one and it's okay, but the build quality and overall design is not up to par with the price. Herman Miller is amazing and will last aeons, is but very (very) expensive. Go to a bunch of stores and try the chairs out. See what feels right for you. I'm almost 2m tall, and the adjust-ability of the chair is a plus for that. Please please please take care of your back. So many people destroy their backs and only realise when they're older and it's too late. It's worth investing in something that will be ergonomic and comfortable, and it will likely be cheaper in the long run because of higher quality.
