  1. Thanks mate, that's really helpful. I'll go start checking product descriptions
  2. Hi there I'm helping a friend build her first gaming PC and she's looking at using a R5 3600 but I'm not entirely sure about B450 mobo compatibility. Will she have to update the BIOS or can she just drop the CPU in and have it work straight away? I'm pretty sure it would work straight away but i just want to double check before i recommend anything. Thanks in advance for any answers.
  3. Just managed to boot into windows using the bios so it's ok
  4. I just installed both windows 10 and Ubunto onto the same drive. It booted into both fine the first time. Except now when I turn my PC on it doesn't let me pick which OS to boot into, instead it come up with GNU GRUB and let's me input commands. Anyone know how to get past this and boot into an OS? Thanks in advance for any help
  5. After fully dismantling and rebuilding the PC and changing the HDMI cable, it now successfully outputs. No idea what was going wrong but thanks for the help
  6. Got the Silverstone ST45SF-G. Only a year old so I doubt it's that. The power light on the GPU also stays on. Got a spare PC in my hometown I could use for testing, but that means taking my GPU on the train which I'm not eager about.
  7. Didn't move the PC at all and there's no obvious damage to the GPU or any other components
  8. PSU is modular but I've checked all the cables half a dozen times and they're all properly plugged in
  9. Was working perfectly up until I tuned the PC off, then next time I turned it on and it wasn't outputting
  10. So my RX480 has stopped outputting. The fans spin up initially but then turn off immediately afterwards. CPU and case fans all stay powered on. I've tried reseating it multiple times and making sure the 8 pin power cable is plugged in properly but it hasn't changed anything. My CPU is the R5 2600 so I can't boot from integratee graphics to check the BIOS or anything like that. Not sure what else there is I can do, any help is much appreciated
  11. So I have a weird problem with my pc. When the side panel is off everything works perfectly fine, but when I out the side panel on it stops outputting. The GPU fans also don't spin up and the power led doesn't turn on. I've taken the side panel off and on multiple times so it can't be the side panel moving wires or anything like that unless it's happening everything single time. Case is the Silverstone SG13 if that helps. I honestly have no idea what could be going on here
  12. So I had ryzen master open when running the AIDA64 stress test because ryzen master was saying my EDC (CPU) was at 99% at idle and i wanted to see what happened under load. However i noticed that Ryzen master and AIDA64 were showing drastically different tempratures. AIDA was showing 60 C max while ryzen master was rep[orting high 80s. The CPU is running a completely stock speeds and voltage when this happened. I stopped the stress test as soon as i noticed this, so it was only running for 4 minutes, so they might have equalised if i had let it run longer. This might also explain why an OC i previously thought stable was crashing after less than half an hour in AIDA64, with temps only reaching mid to high 70s. My CPu is the ryzen 2600 and the mobo is the MSI B450I Gaming Plus AC.
  13. So I'm thinking of buying the silversstone SG13 but I'm worried about airflow to the CPU. I'm currently using the wraith stealth cooler that came with my R5 2600 but I'm not sure how efficient it will be seeing as how its a downdraft cooler and the PSU is sitting right above it (iI'musing a SFX PSU so that should give it some more room). Would a 120mm AIO work better here? or what other air coolers could you recommend? I want to overclock the 2600 as much as possible, ideally above 4.0Ghz.
  14. You were right. Cleared the CMOS with a paper clip and it booted into the BIOS. So relieved that I haven't wastes all that money!
  15. Yeah I thought about that, not sure where the CMOS battery is on this board and I don't want to prod around in there incase I do any damage. I've also noticed that on the back of the old kit of ram it says 3000Mhz, same as the new one, but it'll only run at 2400Mhz unless you use XMP to OC it. I don't know if that makes any difference. Posting again because I forgot to reply. Sorry for the inconvenience
