  1. What are the delta used power supplies that people seem to mention? Is this one of them?: http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/DELTA-DPS-600MB-600W-CONTINUOUS-ATX-SERVER-POWER-SUPPLY-WARRANTY-/172564525850?hash=item282da5b31a%3Ag%3AaXIAAOSwuxFYvZKj&_trkparms=pageci%3Acd1b71ff-445b-11e7-a520-74dbd180fb5b%7Cparentrq%3A53ceaefc15c0aca4692b24c8fffde525%7Ciid%3A1 Say for example I build a PC with an i5 2500K and a GTX 780Ti. Would this power it? (With a molex-gpu pin adapter?)
  2. Ah, I remember that grub would not detect the EFI partition at all, no matter what I did, it just wouldn't. Yes I tried numerous methods, I even tried installing systemd instead but that was also a pain. I don't need Arch anyway, I just wanted a fast Operating System which Kubuntu delivers, I'm loving it right now and my one gripe about Ubuntu was that I didn't like the Unity desktop and Kubuntu of course takes care of that.
  3. Alright changing OS in an hour or two so I need to make a decision quick. I'm not new to Linux, I've used Ubuntu, Antergos, Zorin, but I've given up on installing Arch (errors after errors when trying to install the bootloader, I just want to try out kde lol). Whichever one has the best functionality and customisation. i5 3230M 4GB RAM Intel HD Graphics Doing some coding, web browsing, maybe some wine, usual stuff that should run fine on both distros.
  4. yeah i was thinking of doing that originally but now i have no hard drive at all which is a struggle
  5. I might just get a normal hard drive because SSD's cost way too much. I'm saving that for later, as I said I'm gonna build a PC in the Summer, I only need a hard drive so I can play League of Legends for now. I'm not the one paying for all this stuff anyway, I don't wanna spend much money on the piece of junk of a laptop that I have since I'll be replacing it soon.
  6. I'm replacing my laptop's 500GB WD Blue hard drive which has supposedly failed. I'm thinking of getting a hybrid drive. 500GB is more than enough as I only plan to use like, 180GB of storage space in a single operating system. But which drive should I buy? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-Performance-500GB-Hybrid-Internal/dp/B0151KMCZY/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1492778405&sr=8-4&keywords=2.5+hybrid+drive+500gb https://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-ST500LX025-Firecuda-2-5-Inch-Internal-Hybrid/dp/B01LZM5R0O/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1492778405&sr=8-2&keywords=2.5+hybrid+drive+500gb Yes, there are 240GB SSDs but they cost a bit more, trying to be cheap here as I'm more on the line of "should I get a normal hard drive or a hybrid drive??" I'm probably going to get an SSD for my upcoming PC Build in the summer, but right now I just need a working hard drive.
  7. It does that when I go into Legacy BIOS, of course I have my OS installed in UEFI.
  8. I have a crappy Acer laptop, and when I turn it on it stays at the Acer logo. Windows doesn't work at all. Nor do any of my other Operating Systems. This wasn't because of a installation; it all happened so sudden, possibly because I force-shut down my laptop a few days ago, which is when the problem arose. When I continously tap F2, it takes like 5 minutes JUST to get into the BIOS. I tried booting into ZorinOS (Linux distro) via USB. Yesterday it worked, today it took about 20 minutes at the boot logo and I gave up (this could be an issue with the USB itself...) My hard drive has been corrupt for ages, I remember yesterday hearing it make a faint beeping noise, I'm generally not sure whether it's failing or not because it was quiet, but noticeable. My installed Linux OS, Zorin, displayed that there was a bad sector in the boot file(I think??), while as for my other OS, I could see their folders (on the day the USB boot worked), but I couldn't access them. What should I do now? I'm gonna build a new system, but that's gonna have to wait a few months. Right now, should I get a new Hard Drive and install Windows 7 on it? I'm a bit worried, since this problem has sort of 'spilled'.
  9. RX 550 and 560 are budget. I wanna get the 550 so bad... My laptop's hard drive with Intel HD 4000 Graphics just broke on me... perfect time to build a new PC!
  10. I can't find any H110 motherboards on Amazon UK that come with the BIOS update out of the box. Well, I am planning to upgrade my CPU when Tiger Lake/Ryzen 2 comes out. I might just get the G4560...
  11. I know that the G4560 is out, but buying that with a B250 motherboard and DDR4 RAM costs £40 more than the AMD combo. I'm pairing this CPU with a GTX 1050 and I'm only gonna be playing League of Legends and Overwatch. I need a new computer right now and keeping the price of it low may influence whether I get a desktop or a shitty laptop for the same price.
