  1. I'm building a PC as a Christmas gift. I tested everything once and the fans started spinning and all was good, so I turned it off and put everything together. But now it won't post at all. No beep or signal. I tried taking out a ram stick, tried taking the motherboard out again to re test it. I've checked my risers and all my power connectors. However I'm skeptical about these two connectors that are connected to each other but one is too short to be connected. I've provided an image. I know where they go but only one can fit because the cord is to short for both to be inserted. And considering it worked before without one of them being connected I don't think I need both of them connected?
  2. It looked different than what I'm use to seeing. Just wanted to make sure I'm using the right thing. Thank you.
  3. So I found this little bad boy near the dumpster and couldn't help but grab it in hopes of getting it to work. But the cable to the power supply is missing is there anyway I could obtain the plug without knowing the exact power supply?
  4. Not sure what you said about the GPU. I'm not sure if I'm comfortable enough to take the graphics card apart. That's what I'm worried about. If it is actually that temperature, it would be dangerous to put it underload. Would it be safe to install Windows like it is?
  5. I've built a new pc, with a ryzen 1700. When I turn it on the bios pops up like it should but I noticed the CPU temp is 57 c. Am I wrong or is that a high temp to be idling at? I have one case fan that isn't spinning and I've read that the fans aren't so good but would that explain a 20c difference? Here's an image Now I don't think I did a terrible job of thermal paste. It wasnt the best but I don't think it was the worst either. Do I just need more fans? The CPU fan is spinning and one of the case fans is as well. What should I do?
  6. So I referenced my manual and I know where to put the pins but I would like to know which side the power switch connectors go into, the negative and positive connectors. Because there's no positive or negative indicators on the manual like they are on the actual connectors. Power switch positive and negative not labeled here
  7. I finally screwed it all in. Just hope nothing bent...
  8. Long story short, the first time I tried installing my ryzen CPU and wraith spire cooler I fucked it up really badly and really bent some pins. So I'm on my second try with another ryzen cpu but this time I bent one pin and I was able to put it back into it's place. But right now I have so much anxiety about fucking it up a second time. Every time I try installing the cooler it ends moving around and sometimes the CPU gets tugged along with it. Now I'm sure I installed it correctly because I matched the triangles and they are aligned. Would it be easier if I got a different cooler? Possibly one more friendlier to amatures?
