  1. I have two of these and they both came bent out of the box. No difference in performance.
  2. Hi, I have an Asus X-299 motherboard. For the last couple of years I have had 4x4GB running on quad channel on one side of the CPU. The other four DRAM slots on the other side are empty. I just got curious what would happen if I were to run 2x4GB on dual channe on both sidesl. How would it affect performance? THanks
  3. I will probably wait a while and get a set of 8 sticks, eventually. 16GB is still plenty for now.
  4. Hi, I have an Asus Prime X299-A motherboard, which supports quad channel DDR4. I have 4 x 4GB TridentZ @ 3200MHz running full speed at quad channel. My question: - I want to add 4x4GB more to the remaining four slots. I am having a hard time finding the same set of RAM online. What would happen if I added a different model that is also rated at 3200mhz? Thanks, Eren
  5. I don't know yet. I just took the thing apart. UPS Ground alone will cost ~ $18. And then Asus will probably charge me for the few pins that got bent during disassembly - rightfully so, but I'm just saying. How the fck does a red headed stepchild Ryzen score higher than an i-5 that costs almost twice as much, on a motherboard that does cost twice as much. Crazy. Good from a gamer's budget. I don't really need quad channel memory afterall. *i know that the i-5 7640 can't step up to quad channel memory. i like to future proof.
  6. I have an i-5 7640x with Trident Z DDR4 on an Asus x299 Prime-a motherboard. I had an EVGA 1070 SC on it. This was the death star. Downstairs for the TV I built a mini itx ryzen out of an MSI motherboard and the lowest end Ryzen processor. Same Trident ram. A month later (now) the big guy burnt out and I am RMA'ing the motherboard and the CPU possibly. So I put together the Ryzen mini itx and the 1070 while this stuff gets fixed. Now I'm wondering if it's worth the RMA shipping fees. That's what.
  7. Wait, didn't Linus do a video about the Xeon W not playing nice with the X299, and it has it own chipset or something?
  8. Ah, balls. I was afraid of that. I might go Xeon, I don't know about the price jump from $250 7640X to one million dollars muuahahha
  9. Before I go backward compatible for five years until the i niner drops to $300, I thought I'd run it by the Linus. I just built an LGA 2066 system on an Asus X299 with an Intel 7640X on dual channel Corsair LPX. Fast forward two weeks, I need the dual channel LPXs on a Ryzen build, so I got a quad channel 16GB kit on its way. The 7640X can't handle quad channel because it's weak sauce. Question=What previous generation i-5 or i-7 is best (<$350) that I can get on an lga2066 with quad cahnnel?
  10. Hello, What are some of the most silent and efficient power supplies around 750 watts? My new PSU is loud. Before I change it I want to get some feedback from here. Thanks. 12. Thank you. I really want an ultrawide before I go VR. They are just so damn expensive and I already have two identical Samsung 27" monitors.
