  1. I have a XPS 13 (2016) and a Monoprice monitor, I have been trying to connect it over the USB-C interface then to HDMI on the monitor. That was not working so I updated the Thunderbolt drivers and firmware and my BIOS (as the TB firmware required a newer version), I was able to get the montior connected using a USB-C to HDMI adapter but even that is not ideal. Ideally what I want to do is have the connection go like this: USB-C --> HDMI --> DVI-D. As I only have HDMI port and DVI-D port on the monitor and the HDMI is taken by my desktop. So here's the new problem, when I attempt the connection using the chain USB-C --> HDMI --> DVI-D, both screen go black and stay black and only come back on when I unplug them (yes the monitor is on the right input), all this even after getting the latest firmwares/drivers. Any suggestions? Is it even possible (USB-C 3.1 to HDMI to DVI-D for video output)?
