  1. Yeah, I know, from where I sit I can't quite tell there is much sag and it really does look just a little worse in the picture there... but I love how beefy mu GPU is, and if my motherboard didn't have reinforced slots I would definitely have some of those little strings you can buy to help hold it up (I took care of the problem in the wooden case, so it won't be a problem for much longer). Thanks for the PSU recommendation, I actually reached out to EVGA and signed up for their build sponsor program because I like their PSUs ;p so fingers crossed I win haha
  2. I like to think I'll be going "bigger and better" haha, thanks for the link
  3. Hey, LTT forums! These are just a few pics of my current build. I bought it from CyberpowerPC and upgraded the GPU, fans, and added LEDs. I am currently in the process of building a new case out of wood, so keep an eye out on the forums. I'm also looking for a modular power supply, preferably over 750 watts, so if you have any recommendations please let me know. Components: Case: NZXT S340 CPU: i7 6700k GPU: ZOTAC GeForce® GTX 1080 AMP Extreme CPU Cooling: Asetek 550LC Motherboard: MSI Z170A Gaming PRO Carbon RAM: 2x (4GB ADATA XPG) Storage: 128GB SSD, 2TB HDD PSU: 800Watt 80+ Bronze (it didn't say the exact PSU on CyberpowerPC but it's either 800watt or 850watt, I'm not sure what brand) non-modular Case Fans: Corsair SP120 Quie Edition x3, Corsair AF140 Quiet Edition x1 Lighting: CableMod Magnetic 60CM Wide Beam RGB LED Kit Operating System: Windows 10
  4. Hello, LTT forums! SO, basically, I need about 4 feet of LED's, I want them to be RGB, and I would like for the whole thing to cost under or around $30. I heard the thing to do is buy any RGB LED kit and get a power converter to run the little box off of a molex cable or something? Go from DC to AC current or vice versa, however it goes. I wanted to know if this was a safe thing to do in your computer, and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any lights and a method of power conversion? Thanks!
  5. I might have to start vacuuming more if the dust gets too bad x) thanks
  6. Thanks, fixed it ;p So if they were quite literally pressed together, basically a screen behind/on the grille, do you think it would have as much of a performance impact as a fan being against the back of a water coolers radiator? Because that's basically whats going on here
  7. Hello, LTT forums! So, in a nutshell, I am building a PC out of wood. I plan on doing a huge post on here or Imgur explaining how I built it, but that's later. I have all the blueprints drawn out, I'm starting construction, and I'm just missing a few things here and there that I would like to have checked off the list of things to find amidst the interwebs. I was just thinking two techies is better than one, and was hoping I could get some help finding the little parts I need, or perhaps some suggestions on better or different parts at possibly better prices. The list of parts below are parts I'm looking at buying already, but I'm open to new ideas. What I Need: + Motherboard Standoffs - https://www.amazon.com/Female-Threaded-Standoff-Spacer-M4x5mm/dp/B00YGBCZ8O/ref=sr_1_31?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1477859614&sr=1-31&keywords=standoffs -I only need 9 of these or so, so buying a pack of 50 isn't something I really wanted to do. Any idea where I could buy a smaller pack, or maybe suggestions for better standoffs? (My MOBO is in my signature) + Some Front I/O - http://www.corsair.com/en-us/carbide-400q-c-front-i-o -I was looking at some on/off switches today when I stumbled across this, and I thought "maybe there is something better?" I would like something with 2 USB 3.0 ports, headphone and mic inputs, and an on/off switch. This just makes wiring easier for me, that way I don't have to get all of these parts individually and get them to attach to the motherboard ( x.x ) + Dust filters - https://www.amazon.com/Silverstone-Filter-Magnet-Cooling-FF123B/dp/B00ARB5E8U/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1478636660&sr=1-1&keywords=dust%2Bfilters&th=1 -I will need about 3 of these to go over my intakes, 2 of which could be a "2 in 1 combo" kind of thing since 2 of my 120mm will be stacked. The only thing is they need to be THIN! I mean the thickness of the filter here is about .1", and that's about as thick as I'd like it to be. + Fan Grille - https://www.amazon.com/Online-Metal-Supply-Aluminum-Perforated/dp/B00NR30NX6/ref=sr_1_4?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1478637401&sr=1-4&keywords=Aluminum+Perforated+Sheet -This is the material I want to put over the fans so I don't stick my finger into them, or drop anything into my case. The design is pretty simple (which I like) and the thickness is what I need it to be (1/8") but if you know of anything cooler then I'm totally up for suggestions! + 16x PCI-E Extension - https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/8KC3-0726-0500/3M12026-ND/3641403 -I recently made a post trying to find one of these, and this is the one I was recommended (which I like). A lot of these are built like trash and sell for under $10 on Amazon, but I can't risk blowing up the over a grand worth of components I worked my @$$ off to buy. I like the riser here, but it costs almost $100 and that makes me tear up a little... if it could be found anywhere at a less expensive price (even a little less) please let me know! Thanks for the help!
  8. Daaang, that's probably the coolest wall-mounted PC I've ever seen... And seeing him give credit to 3M calms my nerves having never heard of them before, thanks!
  9. True, true... If 3M is considered a really good manufacturer, I will most definitely consider it. I'd much rather pay $90 for a cord than buy a new GPU and possibly motherboard... no doubt about it
  10. Thanks, I'd like to find something with a review if I could, I've heard horror stories of electronic smoke and lost GPUs to poorly made cables of this type. But nonetheless I will most definitely have that tab open for a while, although the $89 price tag does bring a tear to my eye... Much appreciated!
  11. I just bought the wood yesterday and ordered a compass (the one for drawing), so I am starting construction Friday. I'd like to show my blueprints off (even if they might be kinda sucky) but I'd like to wait until I start building it in case someone else wants to build it, I'd just like to be the first.
  12. Hi, I'm new to the LTT forums, but I've watched the channel for quite a while. If there was anywhere I could hope to get some help, or at least a good suggestion, I was thinking it might be here. Long story short: I am building a PC case out of wood and I need a 12 or 13 inch 16x PCIE Riser/Extender. It needs to be high quality because the parts I am connecting it to are high-end (expensive) and I don't want to fry them. Long story long: I'm building a PC, or more specifically, a PC case. I have it completely designed and drawn up on Auto CAD, all the ideas are down on paper, I even have almost all of the materials, and I'm ready to start. I just need this one part, and it has not been easy to find... A 16x PCIE Riser Simple enough, right? Except I need it to be about 12 or 13 inches long... So I started by contacting a dealer on amazon, EZDIY, they were really cool and for about a week we had some back and forth going and they were going to look into testing and custom making a riser long enough to accommodate the case I'm building. I could hardly believe it, but it's been a while since I've heard back from them and the product is no longer being displayed on Amazon... As long as I looked around the internet, the riser they built was about as nice of a riser as you could buy (as far as I know), high quality, shielded, great reviews, the whole nine yards. So besides the riser they sold (which was 25cm long or 9.8in) I can't find anything else that doesn't look like trash (which is pretty much every riser cable on Amazon) and is close to the length and build quality I need. What I need: If you know where I can buy a 12 to 13 inch 16x PCIE Riser, cable, please let me know. Or if you know of a company that makes a good cable, please let me know so I could contact them. or If you know where I can buy the parts needed to make such a cable, please let me know. Thanks! I'm hoping people take interest in this, I'd love to do a build log as I go about making the case.
