  1. Simple question - I use my computer for mostly gaming and music production and am currently deciding between a Ryzen 3600 and a 3700x. I have the money to spend on a better chip, but I just don't know if it is justifiable to spend an extra $100+ Also what is a reasonable OC speed for both processors? Thanks in advance
  2. Thank you, the link is appreciated!
  3. Hello community! I have recently purchased an Anne Pro 2 Mini 60% keyboard and I want to bling it out with some nice keycaps. The only issue is that I am not exactly sure what size keycaps to get for certain keys, specifically the tab, caps lock, shift, crtl, alt, and the windows key. Thanks!
  4. I'm running a 1440p 165Hz monitor with a Ryzen 5 1600 and a RTX 2070 Super. Most games I play do not reach above 120 FPS on high/custom settings so a frame boost would be welcomed def
  5. Do I need to download drivers for my HDDs, and SSDs? Thanks
  6. Currently I am running a Ryzen 5 1600 in my system, but am considering getting a 3600, as I mostly game on my system and I know that 3rd gen Ryzen provides a pretty large FPS boost. Is it worth it
  7. If you want to look into the used market, I'd say go for a GTX 1080, but if you want a new card, maybe look into an RTX 2060 or 2060 Super (if it fits your budget)
  8. i know that OC's work differently based on each individual card, but I just wanted to get a rough estimate on how much I can expect to OC my card
  9. Finally pulled the pin and bought an RTX 2070 Super Founders Edition from Nvidia. Although I have not received it yet, I do intend on overclocking the card a bit, as supposedly Nvidia keeps the best binned chips for themselves. Can someone give me a rough estimate of how much I can expect to push the core clock, memory clock, and the power limit? Thanks
  10. This was not originally my card, and it came from a pre built system, so unfortunately I do not have access to the warranty claim
  11. I have tried it, unfortunately still does not work
  12. I've tried downclocking the speed by around 200mhz and the memory by 500mhz, as well as turning the power slider on MSI afterburner to around 80%. The card still runs with artifacts unfortunately
  13. Before I write anything about my situation, I would like to clarify that I AM NOT selling, only asking for input from the community I have a Zotac Mini GTX 1080 which is essentially broken. I can get a display on the screen, but immediately once I start a game, the GPU begins to artifact and consequently go to a black screen. Right now, it is just collecting dust and I want to clear it out, since I do not know how to fix it. I am thinking of listing it on Facebook's Marketplace or on Ebay, but not sure what price I should set it to, and therefore I am asking the LTT community, as many of you are definitely more experienced than I am at this. The bare minimum price I am willing to sell it for is probably around $75 USD
  14. I’ve heard that nvidia keeps the best chips from their manufacturing for their founders edition, which is why I was leaning towards that (price helps too). On the other hand, I’ve read that the FTW 3 have some of the highest binned chips that EVGA receive, so I’m assuming that there’s probably marginal quality difference between the two chipwise. According to what you have told me, the FTW 3 has a superior cooler, but in terms of quantifying the performance gap on the OC, how much higher performance would I really get?
  15. Hello all. The time has come for me to purchase a new GPU, and I have decided on getting a RTX2070S. The only question left is which card is the best? In my current situation, the demand for these cards are very high, so I have limited options which I have narrowed down to the 2070S Founders Edition or the EVGA FTW 3 2070S, which is a whole $80 USD more. Personally, I am skeptical if it can perform $80 better, but I have read that it runs very quiet and cool, which is a pretty important factor, but obviously performance is the key reason why I am buying this card in the first place. Can someone tell me whether the FTW 3 is worth the extra money or should I tell EVGA to p*ss off and keep my extra $80. Thanks!
  16. At least a 2060 super. I had a GTX1080 which has neck and neck performance to a 2060S as well as the same monitor specs as you. While on medium settings, I got a pretty constant 120+FPS but I would still recommend a 2070 or more
  17. I was able to find a used GTX 1060 3 GB locally for $75, but I think it was just a really lucky find. Keep browsing deals on Ebay or Facebook marketplace and maybe something good will pop up!
  18. Yes, but if hes on a tighter budget and cant afford a 2080 which currently has an extremely over inflated price where I am, then a 2070S which is at least $100 cheaper (once again, where I am) would be a viable option.
  19. I definitely would not go for a 2080S. The small increase in performance is overshadowed by the massive inflation in price due to its very recent launch. Truthfully if I were you, I would get the 2080 if you have the budget, or even a 2070S because from what I've seen, a good OC can rival the performance of a 2080
  20. It's likely that your GPU or CPU (maybe both) are suffering from thermal throttling. For beginners, I would recommend elevating the exhaust area of your laptop or get a cooling pad on Amazon as well as cranking the fans up a little. Make sure to play on a table or a solid flat surface, as if you play on even your lap, your laptop will suffocate. A little more advanced technique is to undervolt your CPU, and you can find a good tutorial on youtube by Dave2D
  21. Update on this thread: I was contacted by DeepCool and it seems that they had discovered the leak in their AIO had indeed killed my graphics card. With that said, they are sending me a replacement AIO and over $300 to reimburse my GTX 1080. With the money, I am thinking of getting a RTX 2070 Super (when the prices go down) or maybe even a 2060 Super, as it has on par performance to a 1080 from what I have seen.
  22. Thanks for the input! The reason why I am looking to get a 2070S is because unfortunately my 1080 was fried by a leakage in my CPU AIO, and I am currently running on a 1060 3 GB. Nevertheless, I am also considering getting a Ryzen 3 chip as well
