  1. Thing is the 5700x was released like 2 years after the 5800x, that's why most older articles/videos and even some people who are not aware of the 5700x, will be recommending the 5800x
  2. Issue is it's crashing at stock. That is worrying to me.
  3. Check reviews of it, I haven't heard of this cooler before. Also please don't get the 5800x. It's literally the same as the 5700x. Unless the price difference is less than 10.
  4. I've been undervolting with afterburner for the past year without any issues. But since last month, it's been causing BSODs. Took me a while to figure it out. I tried everything, even fresh installed windows 2 times. Today I uninstalled Afterburner and tried running my usual games and benchmarks. Not a single crash. Usually with afterburner, especially with stock settings, I will have my computer restart within minute of running superposition. I've been working around the issue by reducing the voltage and clocks to get stability. It works, mostly. But still annoying crashes here and there. So my intial judgement was, my gpu is dying. Just on a whim I decided to install evga precision x1. And I let it auto overclock on the curves page. I changed nothing, no changes to power target or voltage. I just let it overclock my card. And surprisingly, despite the overclock, no crashes bsods or any funny business. Granted the temps were higher than I like but very stable clocks and performance. Also when I reset everything to stock. No issues with crashing or bsods with PX1. Then I uninstalled px1, because it's very hard to undervolt with px1 (the button for the vf curves don't show up). And reinstalled MSI Afterburner. And immediately crashes at stock. A slight undervolt will help, but may randomly crash on the desktop for example or on discord. What is happening, any ideas? Thx
  5. Honestly everything seems solid. If I were you I'd jump for the 12400 non f, because after 4 or 5 years, I would maybe use the mobo and cpu for some project. And having an igpu is useful That is all tbh. Also unless playing ultra modern games at 4k, 32gb is more than enough. I rarely ever exceed 14gb usage on my computer (only when I'm doing 3d renders and complex workloads like making an hdri or something)
  6. Oh well that the EU. If the other cards are cheaper then I'd go with them, but I doubt that's the case. My country is pretty similar too, we pay 2x to 3x the msrp lol
  7. If you don't have any specific applications in mind that need something like tensor cores or something that intel cards don't have, then you should be good. Just don't overpay for the card. It's not worth paying much above msrp (same goes for almost all other cards in this price bracket)
  8. most definitely at 1080p not so much at 4k. For gaming I'd advise buying whatever you have access to, then upgrading the rest as soon as you have funds for work apps like blender or resolve, go with whatever u use the most (mostly it is the GPU)
  9. you may be running out of memory try closing all apps and then running Minecraft. Try modding minecraft with to make it easier to run, start with sodium and starlight
  10. I don't have it but 1. Most reviewers agree that it has gotten very good over the past 6 months 2. You should see what specific apps you want to use and see if they run well with the a770 For example: I play alot of csgo and edit on davinci resolve, so I'll check benchmarks for those 2 apps and then check a few more. this is how I would go about doing my research.
  11. Check temperatures using hwinfo64, if the gpu itself is less than 83 degrees and CPU less than a 100 you don't need to worry
  12. Hello. I've had this issue since March I think... Before it was just Netflix and WA. I waited for a while using alternatives to get by (old whatsapp app and netflix on browser) but after a while I started to get some other issues like unable to install some new apps like audio plugins or trying to run pugetbench. So I just got fed up and reinstalled windows yesterday. Everything was working fine until this afternoon when suddenly they stopped working again. I have no idea why they have stopped working. I've tried uninstalling many apps, but they are not the cause of the issue. Checking event viewer shows this. Something to do with XAML apparently and I have no idea what caused it or how to fix it. Sidenote: I did update windows this afternoon, my brother too is running the same update but he has no issues with UWP apps. 13. It should be a slot in and go situation. Let's test your ram sticks. You need an application called memtest. There's a usb bootable version and a x64 windows program. USB version is better but the windows version is much simpler to run and test. Remove your old ram. Keep only stick in the slot and run memtest without DOCP. Then turn on DOCP. If everything is fine, you should get 0 errors in memtest. Continue with other stick. Rinse and repeat with every stick of ram individually. If one of the sticks of ram is bad you'll have to RMA it Then put them in pairs of two and test again. If still you see no errors. Then put them all in and test again. Now you should definitely see some kind of an error. At this stage if you get no errors at the default but errors with DOCP try downclocking or increasing the voltage.
  14. No changing the CMOS battery didn't fix it. I tried a barebones boot, even then it would not boot
  15. I will do. Probably gonna be a couple days. Cuz today's a public holiday here. So everything is closed

    HELP - PC Headphones

Sennheiser's PC38X. They are the best hands down for gaming (especially) and pretty much everything else you wanna do like mixing audio or watching movies. And it's not me saying this, but literally every audio on YouTube. Only downside, kinda expensive. But it often goes for sale down to 120 bucks. If you can stretch your budget that far, they are great
  17. I think I found the issue, it may be the battery on the CMOS. Cuz my friend said that time is often wrong when the computer turns on. He doesn't have a multimeter so I'm gonna ask him to just buy a new battery cuz they are relatively inexpensive. If it doesn't work then I'll have to try other things, like the fans
  18. Check your bios settings. Maybe there's some settings there which makes it switch off
  19. Run memtest86 first. If you get errors then your ram may be the issue. Otherwise I'm not too sure
  20. Have you tried re-installing Windows? Like I know it should not be that necessary since you haven't switch platforms, but give it a go. Backup all your data. And then wipe your drive (or Windows partition) and reinstall windows. And then all the appropriate drivers
  21. Ok so this is my friends computer. It doesn't have any issues other than it sometimes just doesn't turn on. It's getting worse. Sometimes it doesn't turn on for hours (Motherboard rgb works tho even when nothing else turns on). He thought it was a PSU issue. He brought it to my place I tested it on my system and his. And at my place it worked well. On his system and mine. Like no issues at all. When he brought his computer over I saw his GPU was plugged in the 2nd slot of his motherboard, which I thought was the cause of the problems. I changed it to the 1st slot. But 3 days later. His computer sometimes doesn't turn on. Computer doesn't turn off when being used even under full load. System specs are R5 2600 B450 tuf gaming plus (no bios updates done since it was working perfectly fine before) Oloy 16gb 3000 cl16 1650 super Silicon Power SSD Corsair VS450 (bought in 2017, it's the version where "vs" is written in orange, not in white) Note: this power supply belonged to me. I used it for 3 years until January in 2020 (i3 6098p and rx 460, had no issues). When he bought it from me his graphics card (also my rx460) had a ferret that fried which rendered the graphics card useless. But after that no issues. The computer was running without any issues. For 2 years We also just did a fresh install of Windows like 3 weeks ago. Wiped everything, even all the programs. I dunno what the issue is. The motherboard looks like it's working well, everything works as it should in the bios. Can it still be the power supply? Thx
  22. I'd advise you to wait just a little more. Intel's new CPUs come out in the next month or 2. Same for AMD. And yes, I think it's a good idea, unless you want to play at high resolutions and high settings. Imo you can drop the settings if you cannot run the game at 60fps. I don't recommend getting a gpu right now. Way too expensive, keep your cash with you. You already have a GPU, you're gonna be fine even if you don't wanna upgrade. If you get a good deal at the end of 2022 then you can buy a gpu. The you can upgrade your platform to ddr5 in 2023 or 2024, by then ddr5 will be cheaper and much faster
  23. So my friends laptop isn't charging, the charging pin that goes into the laptop broke. Now I do have an extra charger for another laptop, but it's 65w and when I plug it in the laptop goes "Please plug in 45w charger" and does not charge. I cannot buy anything rn for them (nor can they). The battery cannot be removed easily, the back panel will have to be opened which they can't do. Is there anything in the BIOS or something that can changed to make it work temporarily until we can buy a new power brick.
  24. if you are getting more than 5mb then you know that something else is wrong. sorry I cannot help you anymore, I gotta hit the bed
