  1. I think you should make up your mind. You say "Membrane over mechanical preferred" at first, but then at the end, you say "I need mechanical switches back." What's your budget? Are you gonna use it for multiple devices and/or carry it to class?
  2. So I’ve been looking at the bigger air coolers since having two AIO’s is really loud. Here’s my partlist: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant Type Item Price CPU AMD - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4GHz 6-Core Processor $165.99 @ Amazon Motherboard ASRock - X370 Taichi ATX AM4 Motherboard $163.88 @ OutletPC Memory Team - Dark Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory $210.98 @ Newegg Storage Samsung - 860 Pro 512GB 2.5" Solid State Drive $147.99 @ Amazon Video Card EVGA - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB FTW Gaming ACX 3.0 Video Card $589.89 @ B&H Case Fractal Design - Define R6 Gunmetal ATX Mid Tower Case $135.59 @ Newegg Power Supply EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply $66.44 @ OutletPC Wireless Network Adapter Asus - PCE-AC88 PCI-Express x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter $107.26 @ B&H Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total (before mail-in rebates) $1628.02 Mail-in rebates -$40.00 Total $1588.02 Generated by PCPartPicker 2018-10-06 19:12 EDT-0400 I also have an NZXT Kraken G12 + X62 280mm on my GPU. The define R6 comes with 3 case fans so they should provide good airflow. I’ve been looking at Noctua’s NH-D15, Phanteks TC14PE, Silver Arrow IB-E, etc and I was wondering how well they perform compared to each other. In regards to noise, airflow, cooling capacity, what would be the best? Would I not go wrong with any of them? Another thing I may be willing to do is to swap the included fans of the cooler with something else if it can provide better cooling. Any advice?
  3. I have a fractal design define R6 and it has 8 standoffs installed plus one rubber standoff in the middle, (which doesn't have a screw hole). My motherboard has 10 standoff screw holes. Is the rubber standoff safe? Would I need to replace it with a normal standoff?
  4. I can have 4 HDD’s with a front radiator?
  5. So I would like a new case that needs to have some specific requirements: -240mm AND 280mm AIO support. I have it for my CPU and GPU -4 3.5 drive bays -2 2.5 drive bays other information: -I have a mATX but I plan on getting ATX in the future -I have an EVGA FTW GTX 1080 -150mm PSU I've been looking at the Phanteks Evolv X but I was wondering if there were any other cases out there
  6. I'm trying to find the best performance 240mm AIO. I tried Google searching but I don't get anything up to date. There are tones of options nowadays. Corsair, Fractal Design, Cooler Master, NZXT, etc., but I'm trying to find the best performing cooler that's also not the noisiest.
  7. So should I put a 140mm radiator on the rear and standard air fans on the top instead?
  8. Here are the upgrades for your laptop that are available
  9. So I'm planning on doing separate cooling solutions in my case for my CPU and GPU. Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv mATX (non-Tempered glass) CPU: Intel i7-4770K GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 FTW ACX 3.0 I have a Corsair H100i on my CPU, and I'm planning on putting that radiator in the front of my case. The case can support a 280mm radiator on the top, so I'm planning on using an NZXT Kraken X62 on my 1080 (NZXT Kraken G12 is bought and pending shipment). How much of a difference will a 240mm vs. a 280mm radiator make for my GPU?
  10. It wouldn't move around a whole lot. In the beginning and end of the school year, my dad would be able to drive since I need that space anyways, so I can safely transport it. It would just be fall, winter and spring breaks where I would need to transport it. Even with padding from clothing, it wouldn't be a good idea?
  11. I'm an out of state freshman and would like to build a new PC in a case that's portable enough to be put in a suitcase. I would plan on watercooling the CPU and possibly hybrid cooling the GPU as well. I would put the suitcase in the middle surrounded by clothes and possibly packaging air bags. Since it's a 5-hour drive, I'd rather not make my dad drive me back and forth for breaks and driving at my school would be expensive and with the amount of people, inconvenient so I'd rather just walk. Thus, I must take the bus that is provided by my school. They allow one carry-on and one luggage. I have considered a gaming laptop, but it's just not a good option. Laptops are higher priced, less powerful due to mobile parts, and cooling on laptops is at the very best poor, so thermal throttling would be common. Plus, I hook everything to an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse and turn off the laptop display so, to me, a Micro-ATX/Mini-ITX build just makes so much more sense. I don't know the exact model of the luggage suitcase that I have, but I do believe it got discontinued as I couldn't find it when looking on Amazon and their website. However, I do believe it is very similar to this one, but it may be very slightly smaller in all L W H. Does anyone else transport their PC's in a luggage bag of some sort? Also, does anyone have any recommendations for a case? I'd like at least a 240 radiator on my CPU that will go in the front and a 240 or 280 radiator on my GPU. There are many options for a case these days, so I have a lot of options. I don't care about windows (but an easy-to-open side panel would be awesome), LED's (I'd turn them off anyway), and 5.25-inch bays (who uses DVD's these days?). Removable hard drive cages would be excellent as well since I plan on using M.2 SSD's and 1-2 HDD"s. I've been looking at Phanteks, Bitfenix, Fractal Design and a few others but I don't really know which one would be best.
  12. What exactly happens when you try to turn on your computer? Like, are there any beeps or lights turning on, or is there absolutely nothing?
  13. Yep, reseating the battery also clears CMOS.
  14. Try looking on the motherboard for a "Clear CMOS Jumper", or a "Clear CMOS Button." It should also be in your manual.
