Techicolors got a reaction from spirals in what to do w/ my life
learning to code is a nice start, but it can be a rather solitary activity unless you can find people willing and committed to do a project together

maybe see if your online friends want to meet up? tho may not be possible if they live far. i know someone who meets up with online friends all the time

    do you go to school?

i had the S8 summer of 2017. still pretty solid phone but the software is pretty bad tbh and fingerprint is terrible, curved screen not for me. iOS super smooth, great camera, face id is pretty awesome, very nice to hold, excellent screen, surprisingly good speakers, navigation is great. love and hate the notch not too horrible

Some advice, in no particular order:
    1) Most of the advice you will get on this site will be shit, because it's written by people who are also ~15 years old and no life experience yet. Take everything with a grain of salt.

    2) Don't expect too much from your first job. It will most likely be pretty bad. So your focus should be less on "I want a job for a techie like me!" and more along the lines of "I want a job that's somewhat decent".

    3) Don't focus too much on your future right now. You're only 14 and your taste and view on things will change dramatically over the next 10 years. What you find fun today might not be fun in 4 years. You might find out that you enjoy other things that you haven't even tried yet. That's why I recommend you don't get too narrow minded and try a lot of different things. School is great in that regard because it usually gives you a little taste of everything.

    4) Having something as a hobby, and working with that are two very different things. You might enjoy building computers for example, but doing that 8 hours a day, ~260 days a year, is probably really really boring. Especially since it's a low-skill job and therefore doesn't pay very well, and you got a lot of competition in getting those few jobs available.

    5) I would recommend you start looking into what job you would want to have 15 years from now. This is incredibly hard to do, and the answer you come up with today will most likely not be "correct" (in the sense that you still want it 15 years from now), but it's worth thinking about. If you want to work with computers for example, it's good to start looking into what kind of jobs exist, and what you need to get that.
It's also important to try and think of how much work you want to put in. And by that I mean, being a lead developer at some big company might sound intriguing, but that requires a ton of dedication that not many people want or can put in, on top of a certain personality and a smidgen of talent.
Not all jobs are right for all people, even if that person wants that job greatly. If you are having a hard time in school right now for example, then aiming for a job that requires a huge amount of studying might not be a great idea.

    6) Spend your youth carefully. While having some work experience is good, your number of carefree, responsibility free days are limited and runs out quicker than you can imagine. There is more to life than just working.

i think i know where you're coming from. i deal with depression for a while

you are right that no one can tell what you want to do in life. for me i'm not sure either. but there must be some interests you can expand on. you say PCs and gaming, both perfectly valid. tho it seems you want something more? those things serves as distractions, so to you not really things you can work on further

working day after day. i mean, we all need money somehow. we pay our dues i think. perhaps budget so you can go on vacation, see the world.

do you want to get married, buy a house? not everyone wants that. i think keyword is 'want', serves as a goals in life

the social life aspect i can see tho. i think when people say to 'get out there', it's to put themselves out there. be enthusiastic, confident, nice to know. get to know the person/people. if it works out, just tell them you want to hang out more. but you can't befriend everyone. be aware that you are who you hang out with, cut ties with toxic people

fear of non-acceptance is hard to get over. i think just trying will go a long way. that is all there is, try. put yourself in uncomfortable situations, maybe you can learn to deal with it and come out better. of course don't go overboard, it is also exploring limits

honestly it's good that you are sharing. for me i find it relieving to share my thoughts even if it's on the internet. keeping it inside tears anyone apart, it's not healthy

Techicolors got a reaction from Thinkfreely in Testing Nvidia Freesync - How bad is it?
i believe i have the same monitor but it works well for me. i also tested with AC Origins one of the few games i experience bad tearing and fps with vsync off, performs surprisingly good. maybe there is some tearing but it's imperceptible to my eyes. i'm honestly shocked at how smooth it is i can definitely deal with the bad fps. i'll probably test AC Unity next, performs even worse than Origins

additionally i heard about CRU and how you can extend the freesync range. it's experimental tho and it's mostly to reduce the minimum range
