Well, since OP isn't worried about the high temperature, it can be consider a 3-in-1. Laptop, heater and a stove.

The new macbook pros have some weird battery issues, where they aren't even getting 6hrs.

Forgot to mention this, but if you don't do a clean install of windows on this. Then the bloatware msi put on there, going kill performance so much. Maybe those people that are having problems, didn't do that.

I'm currently using gs63vr 001 model from best buy and so far If I max out all the setting in gta 5. Then the fan noise becomes really loud, and if I set setting to high/medium then fan noise is not loud at all. The max I see the temperature reach is 72 c and there's no high pitched noise either. So, far i'm happy with it and with the thinness it's really a sexy gaming laptop, that doesn't become into a stove like another gaming laptop. Cough razer blade cough

It would need to be explicitly stated if that were the case (certainly possible but I have not seen it).  There are 'authorized resellers' but not always are they granted the ability/right to perform repairs backed by the manufacturers warranty.

you could just pay Best buy to do it, it costs 40 bucks. I'm assuming this way your warranty will still be intact.

more_fps reacted to Dackzy in Is the Dell XPS 15 getting an upgrade ?
That is a very wrong way of comparing. The 1050ti is a denser chip, so the heat gets more concentrated, this means that dissipation of the heat is harder, so the temps goes up.

Pascal is a hot chip, that is also why the 1080 cooler is basically the old Titan X cooler. We are talking about a 180w TDP card with a 250w TDP cards cooler on it, yet the temps are very high. If you look at 970m laptops that got a 1060 upgrade, then you will see that temps has gone up.

Haven't delved into the Alienwares yet; cannot pass judgement. MSI... they're not overheating, which is good. I would advise against the GS43VR; not built for longevity on some of the parts. The GS63 and GS73 are pretty okay otherwise, and the GT73 is fine. The GT series are pricey, though. If considering a GT62VR, I suggest the Tornado F5 from Eurocom instead; it uses the desktop CPU with socketed GPU and isn't much more expensive. Good choice if you need MSI. Not sure why MSI won't sell those laptops separately.

This is shit. As confirmed by various users on NBR, it's way too hot. The 1060 is better. But then again Asus.

Alienware 13. It's actually quite heft though. Which is good, cause it can cool things. Also lasts as long on battery as the GS43VR

The blade with a 1060 thermal throttles in overwatch, 93c+ and the GPU starts to slow down when it is about 82-83c.That is only one of the problems with it.....

The GS63vr is a bit iffy. The alienware 13 comes out fairly soon it has a 1060 and a 6700HQ, might want to give that a look
