Mining with only 1 card is hardly profitable.

Buying a card for gaming and not mining = no profit at all, buying a card and mining from time to time still gives you more then no mining at all, if you discard power costs.

So your statement is false and also not helpful in anyway.

I mine on my RX 480 and my R7 1700x @4GHz whenever I do not play games/not use the PC (while sleeping or at work) and have made about 300€ the last couple of months so the card payed for itself which is still more then nothing/not mining! On a sidenote: I do not pay for power.

There needs to be a balance.

YouTube Kids is specifically designed to be curated for kid-friendly content.

Those parents who feel their kid doesn't need censoring, are free to let their kid have full access to YouTube.

But many parents rely on YouTube Kids to ensure that there is content there that they don't have to worry about. I have no problem with YouTube cracking down on the Kids content.

Kids should be educated about violence, etc, but randomly exposing them to graphic violence/gore, etc, especially before a certain age, is definitely not healthy for their development. If a parent wants to expose their kids to that stuff? They can do it outside of YouTube Kids.

Then my question is, now that there is YouTube kids which means that YouTube is responsible for that content and in turn will be responsible for everything unethical/not suited for kids, wouldn't that then make them open for lawsuits?

Also, shouldn't all the content that goes into YouTube kids be screened by humans in the first place so this doesn't happen?

Why have it the other way around and that parents need to hit report before a human looks at it?

Isn't that like "Yeah we can prevent a killing but until it's reported we won't do anything about it and then we stop this person from further killings."

  3. What is child appropriate and who defines it?

Think of everything that needs/should get blocked just because in my beliefs or in my culture this is not child appropriate but then again in a lot of other cultures it is, so who decides what is child appropriate?

It's easily understood when it comes to sexual content or straight out porn and other graphical content that makes adults stomachs turn like gore, but then again that is life and the kids should get educated on it instead of finding it out from random youtube videos.

  4. A lot of great advice but everyone is avoiding the main question, how to check if you think you are being monitored.

Yes, the solution to be sure is to reinstall but that's not what is being asked.

I don't have any real input to give sorry, but I hate when people are giving solutions to other problems.

these guys have a 50TB SSD but haven't changed the STOCK DRUPAL ICON on the tab bar (favicon or whatever)

    Seems legit™

Well at least we know their priorities which is making SSD's and that's a good thing ^^

  6. I like the M.2 more as well but the fact is that when using U.2 even if dead/no drives available and you'll need a cable to connect the drive, it is better for temperatures as it is like a SSD and won't be heated up by your CPU or GPU and in the future they could incorporate heat sinks into the chassi of an U.2 drive but that's about it.

Personally i like the m.2 as you don't have any cables going from the motherboard to the drive and as I'm fortunate enough having an UnRaid fileserver where i store everything else except games.

    M.2 is:
    +Sexier
    -Hotter
    U.2 is:

    -Dead

    +Cooler

  7. I'm in the same situation as you with free power and an RX 480 which I use to mine using Nicehash at the moment, I've used them before and I've always got paid. I've also heard that they haven't been consistent with the payouts but never have I not gotten paid, with that said they have a 0.001 payout threshold and as long as you are below that you won't get paid, also if you mine using Nicehash and stop mining and your are under the threshold they will clean it out (after a while), but all that is stated on their site so no surprise there.

  8. Robert W. Taylor, Who Helped Create the Internet, Dies at 85

This is my first news post and I hope it classifies as such, if not feel free to move it.

This pioneer (amongst others) for what we now are using everyday and the younger generations take for granted, is now dead which I don't personally think is sad as it's part of life, but let's hope that he will never be forgotten for being the man that had enough of using 3 machines for 3 different projects just because there was no network and fixed the problem.

  9. I don't get your issues at all, at least Valve/Steam is trying something different and asking the people what they think, now if those 2 people got popular made by you, you then only have yourself to blame.

Would you rather prefer if Valve/Steam just does their own thing without asking for any opinions and then you can "hate" Valve all you want.

And if you think about it, your "issues" are just first worlds problems after all.

Yeah the steam link would be perfect if not for its 1080p limit, was hoping to rock 4k as I got the hardware that can handle it for most games.

Yeah, just figured that out as well with my steam link yesterday and I only wanted to do 2k/1440p but in my personal opinion I still think games look way too shitty, so 1080p or 4k doesn't matter that much to me at least.

Steam in-home streaming does support 4k though, so maybe something like an nvidia shield would be able to give you 4k but then again your monitor needs to be 4k to begin with to be able to stream it over to your tv in 4k so having a longer hdmi cable and wireless controllers might give you more.

  11. I would recommend to watch JayzTwoCent as he is a watercooling enthusiast and gives a lot of info on watercooling.

That's where I would start, otherwise just search for charts/reviews/benchmarks for AIO watercoolers and see what performs best, I do not have a personal opinion to give you to which is better/worse as I'm myself still on air cooling but I'm on my way to get myself watercooling as well and where I am at the moment is that I will probably get myself a kit from EK Waterblocks as their configurator is really easy to work with and has a reasonable price for what you get.

  12. If you read in the comments they also link to an article on wccftech http://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-reviews-live-february-28th-testers-receiving-samples/ with headline: AMD Ryzen Reviews Coming February 28th – Press Now Receiving Samples

also in that article it says:

AMD’s officially announced launch date for Ryzen is March 2nd. That’s when the majority of the lineup is expected to go on sale, with a few models expected to begin shipping to customers a couple of days before that.
