You have a better chance winning the lottery than getting an IPS Panel that is 100% perfect

roughavoc got a reaction from GlassBomb in Anyone who dismisses a better DAC as non-essential is incorrect.
Ok time to chime in with my thoughts about DACs are stuff
Dont want to read spoiler: If you own a motherboard with a dedicated sound output section, you do not need to upgrade you DAC unless you are already content with everything else in your system, it should be the LAST thing you upgrade

roughavoc got a reaction from Quaker in Audio jack is jacked
You didn't mention it was the case 3.5mm causing faults, in that case (haha) just unplug it from the motherboard and purchase a 3.5mm extender and use the rear port.

roughavoc got a reaction from MrDrWho13 in Download speed is limited?
Don't know where you live but here in the UK, the most popular internet provider (BT) had the most common router only having 1 1Gbps port, rest 100Mbps. This could be your problem, have a look at the router.

roughavoc reacted to HKZeroFive in Which graphics card should i buy
I'd wait for some of the cheaper aftermarket 4GB Radeon RX 480s to emerge. They should be roughly $200.

roughavoc got a reaction from don_svetlio in GTX 1060 450-490€ ... I just have to share this
Not super gamer MSI 1060 (With the new 9xx based Armor cooler, which runs and OCs fine in the 9 series)
£240
Non super gamer Sapphire RX 480
£240
Atleast in the UK, the 1060 is a complete no brainer
You just have to use brain when purchasing the 1060 and ignore the overpriced cards (The cheapest Gainward aftermarket card with some hardware modifications can hit 2.2Ghz, don't need to spend £100 more on Asus or MSI GAMER XYZ)

You'll be fine, a newer i5 would obv increase performance but itll be fine
-
roughavoc got a reaction from Energycore in Possible Bottleneck(most definitely)
That is more to do with Flash hogging 40% of your CPU, but I get where you're coming from

Judging by your post, you haven't built / bought this system yet?
If so, don't buy the GPU, wait 3 days for the RX 480 which should cost roughly the same price (I dont know where you live) as the 960 and you'll get a much better performing system
But the rest of the system is fine for what youre looking for.

Don't have to touch the voltage to OC it, good idea to see how far you can push it without touching the voltage anyway

roughavoc reacted to Enderman in best cpu for data analysis
thats because i5s and i7s are better than "similar AMD processors"
you should give a budget if you want realistic suggestions
otherwise go buy a 6950X
its very cheap, only $1750

roughavoc got a reaction from i_build_nanosuits in For normal 1080p gaming. 1070 or 1080?
I heavily disagree with this idea. When I bought my 780, everyone was recommeneding the GTX 770 for 1080 gaming, nearly 3 years later my 780 (Before it died) still hold up well in games whereas the 770 would force me to drop settings from Ultra to medium / high to maintain high framerates.
Getting a card that can do 60fps in current games with most of the settings maxed out is not a good idea unless you are keeping to a budget
I keep on saying that with the new consoles more GPU power is going to be needed to keep playing at high graphics settings and if the GTX 980 can't push 60FPS in every game out now, it is only going to get worse in the coming year.
If OP is has a budget, ofc the 480 is a great idea, but if there is more money that can be spent and want something to easily last you a couple of years, the 1070 is the best bet atm
