Back up your current install to your hdd and do a fresh install of windows on your ssd. Once you have a fresh install just restore your files.

Is there a specific reason you are wanting to upgrade? as far as gaming is concerned neither of those will provide a huge difference in game performance IMO.  You would see a better price to performance bump from getting better cooler and pushing OC as far as possible on your current set up.

COUPER MILLAR got a reaction from Rapid1999 in Asrock B450M-Pro4 For Ryzen 1700
Get the SSD. The only real benefit of an "X" series chipset for AMD is multi gpu support and occasionally better power delivery. However the 1700 isn't known for amazing OC potential (none of the Ryzen chips are compared to intel) and you will feel way more of a performance bump from adding an SSD to your system.

its probably the iGPU not working properly, if it is under warranty try getting a replacement

now if you wanted more vram from the card? pick up a rx 580 or rx 570

but the 1050ti will do just fine.

It's likely a BSOD for inaccessible boot device. NVMe and Windows 7 don't like to co-exist. Did you slipstream the drivers onto your install USB or something?

If you internet speed is less than 10 gigabit, there's so reason to upgrade your router.

I might get hate for this, but I'm personally a big fan of ASRock. The Thai Chi line should give you great power delivery and stable overclocks.

Don't worry about recording your unboxing, if a part is truly doa the manufacturer shouldn't give you too much grief.

Also you can use a plugged in psu as a ground point. It doesn't need to be on, just plugged in.

Plugging in the cables should be straight forward. Each cable should be labeled on the psu and ends of the cables, just make sure they all match since some units have keyed plugs, but that dosent make them fool proof.

COUPER MILLAR reacted to tarfeef101 in Power Bank Needs
If you're talking about a UPS (uninterruptible power supply), then you want to take a look at a few things:
    1) They come with a maximum power draw over which an internal breaker will flip. So, even if it is rated at say, 1500VA, if the max draw is 100W, that's not enough to power a gaming PC under load. So ensure it has enough power draw available to you on battery.
    2) The aforementioned VA rating. Generally, you want it to exceed your power draw in watts by say, 1.5x (debatable). So, for my home server, which is about 200W maximum, I have a 650VA unit with a max power draw of 450W.

First card is a refference PCB with 8+3 power phase, the second is a Gigabyte custom PCB with a 13+3 power phase and should provide better power delivery and in turn better OC performance. However there is always the silicon lottery so YMMV

COUPER MILLAR got a reaction from Totalschaden1997 in Can a Ryzen 5 1600 support 3200 Mhz ram if the motherboard supports it?
Ryzen is picky about what ram it will work with and at what frequency it will run. So whether or not it will work could depend on your specific cpu or the ram. Ryzen specifically performs better when paired whit samsung b die ram

You would most likely get better hardware support in your CAD program from a Quadro.

COUPER MILLAR got a reaction from QuantumBit in 2700x or 8700k
8700k would give the highest frame rates, however if you are limited to 60 hz I would look at something like a 2600. Intel's 1151 v2 socket has no guarantee of future chip support where as AMD has stated AM4 will support cps's through 2020 leaving a better upgrade path in the coming years.

you will also get an increase in your boot time as the array has to load on each boot too. I currently have my OS on a raid 0 and plan to change for a single ssd in the near future.

No, you just need a switch.
5-port gigabit switch will do just fine.

getting a new drive would be my recommendation. once drives start making sounds their days are numbered and i dont feel like i can continue trusting them with data. also its a lot easier to move data when the drive is fully functional vs after it has really died.

COUPER MILLAR reacted to Blasteque in Can i connect two routers with a switch inbetween?
It looks like the WAN port is also 10/100.  So, you're not going to get higher speeds than 10/100 (wireless); I don't think adding in the switch would change anything other than provide gigabit Ethernet ports for the first floor.
