All if it together. I will try push/pull rad for now. Will do some testing with push/pull and push fans to see how it affects temps. If I can leave all 4 fans on idle for 7800x3d, I will leave all 4 in

So just received my parts for a major upgrade. Was expecting them next week, but got a surprise call from courier about delivery today... While I was at work. Very nice to finish and go on my weekend.

Will keep it updated when building if anyone is interested.

Looks good, but I personally would change 2 things

1 - Swap the air cooler for a beefy AIO if you plan on running alot of pressure on that 13900k, especially with OC
2 - My personal opinion, but not a fan of that case. Big, expensive and not well designed in my opinion.

PopsicleHustler got a reaction from Captain Insano in New model of G502 Lightspeed
I don't own it, but had a chance to daily drive it for a couple of weeks. I've been using standard G502 Lightspeed for almost 2 years and liking every second of it.

I don't like it because it has that RGB strip dividing the body into 3 parts. Its imbedded fairly deep into the mouse making it feel uncomfortable since (Personal grip, your results may vary) my palm rests right on the edges, making it uncomfortable after playing for a little while.

Rubber pad under the thumb area is also kinda meh compared to original 502. Its a simple linear pattern compared to more unique triangle shapes used in the original. This makes mouse a little harder to grip if you're playing FPS on low sensitivity and have to move it alot.

Sensor feels the same, as does everything else "Internally". USB C cable is indeed a nice touch if thats important to you.

My brother bought this mouse as a replacement oh his old G402 Hyperion Fury which he used for 6 years until it gave up. He ended up offering it to me for the same reasons that I didn't like it - annoying rubber on both sides and deep cut that goes through the entire body of the mouse.

I ended up asking him for my old G502 Lightspeed back and he ended up returning X Plus model and getting a regular 502 Lightspeed for half the price of X Plus model.

As a side note, for me C cable means +1 because I use micro USB for both G502 and G915 Lightspeed keyboard.

Thank you all for answering. We ended up ordering PowerColor Red Devil 7900XTX since it went on sale and ended up cheaper than Sapphire Pulse model while having much beefier cooling.

Guess I should've made that two points 😄 Buy from a reputable vendor and select a model that doesn't use the reference design. You should be able to tell by looking at the cooler. It'll look exactly like AMD's cards and the reference model from every other manufacturer. When in doubt, check reviews, they often mention whether the card is the reference model.

For example for Sapphire, they have cards using the reference design, as well as Pulse and Nitro. The reference design is the first one released and typically costs the least.

As far as I know it's exactly the reference model, just with an Asus, MSI, Sapphire, ... sticker on it, that's it. AMD is simply outsourcing production for additional volume. If I'm not mistaken, they're all priced the same, at least initially. Custom models require additional R&D, so usually start out more expensive, but depending on how (un)popular they are they might drop below the reference design.

The cracking chips were all ex-miners RX 6000 series. It's to be expected after such an abuse. Reference design also won't be a problem if you have good airflow in the case. The issue comes when people try to stuck 350W GPU into small cases and there isn't any room for anything to breath. With good, uninterrupted flow of fresh, cool air even the reference designs have no problems and keep under 75°C if not OC-ed.

    There's been 2 fully different issues :
Some batches of 7000 AMD cards (not other AIB brands) had a cooler manufacturing defect, with not enough water in the vapor chamber, leading to high temps. Those should iundergo RMA but AMD didn't had enough stock a couple weeks ago, dunnon what happened since
Then another issue was "frying" 6900XT and 6950XT GPUs for some people, which seem to have been on used mining cards that were cleaned with .. water, cards weren't dry as water was still in the card then they fried
So new AIB (non AMD) cards always have been a secure buy eventually

As long as you don't buy from ex-miners, you'd be safe. The stories you've seen all relate to ex-mining cards that have been "maltreated" between their use in mining and the sale to the unsuspecting customer. Buy from reputable vendors, don't cut corners on this one.

[edit: I mixed up 2 generations AMD GPU's, see below!] 😳

The breakdowns affect some RX 6xxx series cards that were used to mine. Thermal issues affect AMD's RX 7xxx reference design. If you want to be on the safe side, buy a card that is not based on AMD's reference design from a reputable vendor.

No. People manged to break the RX 6xxx series cards. It's very unlikely you'd find a used RX 7xxx that was used to mine.

Those are only on the reference cards, and even then it's supposedly only the ones sold by AMD directly (though I'm a bit suspicious of that claim). Either way, a Sapphire Pulse is 2 degrees removed from that controversy so not something you need to worry about. If I had $1000 burning a whole in my pocket and I was in the market for a GPU I'd buy one

Don't go overboard with top exhaust fans. I learned the hard way that it chokes the CPU cooler to death. I have x2 120mm top exhaust and x1 120mm rear exhaust. Had to put top exhausts to minimum RPM in order to balance out the pressure and air movement throughout the case which is Meshify C

I assume you're talking about your tower CPU cooler? The way its installed in the picture is ideal. It gets fresh air from the intakes rather than a lovely toasty breeze from the GPU

So before anything, I just want to know, are you referring to mini ITX or micro ATX? The first line says Micro ATX and you talk about the B650M TUF, so I figure that's what you're referring to (AKA the forgotten form factor because it generally doesn't make sense), but then you go on to say mini ATX for the rest of the thing and talk about cases like the Fractal Torrent Nano which only support Mini ITX boards. These are two very different form factors with very different design philosophies, so I just want to be sure which one exactly you're referring to before suggesting anything.

PopsicleHustler reacted to mariushm in Planning a major upgrade into mini ATX format.
There's EATX (extended ATX - wider than regular ATX) , there's ATX (standard), there's mATX (a bit shorter ATX, usually max 2-3 pci-e slots) and there's ITX which is shorter than mATX and kinda square, and usually has only one pci-e slot and only 2 memory slots.
Cases will support motherboards according to their size .. small cases may support only mATX and ITX, bigger cases may also support ATX, even bigger cases (actually deeper) support also EATX.

If you want to go ITX there's few options on AM5 right now .. PC part picker lists 5 :
    MSI MPG B650I EDGE WIFI AM5    Mini ITX    64 GB    2    Black / Silver     (0)    $239.99
Asus ROG STRIX B650E-I GAMING WIFI    AM5    Mini ITX    64 GB    2    Black     (1)    $329.99
    Gigabyte B650I AORUS ULTRA    AM5    Mini ITX    64 GB    2    Black / Silver     (0)    $269.99
    Asus ROG STRIX X670E-I GAMING WIFI    AM5    Mini ITX    64 GB    2    Black / Silver     (0)    $459.99
    ASRock B650E PG-ITX WIFI        AM5    Mini ITX    64 GB    2    Black / Red     (1)    $289.99

The Asus ROG STRIX B650E-I GAMING WIFI but if your budget is tight the Gigabyte B650I Aorus Ultra is a good deal at $270
Those extra $50 get you pci-e 5.0 x16 slot for video card and a a couple extra usb 10gbps ports on the back and optical out and that's about it, gigabyte board has better VRM and 3 M.2 ports instead of just two on Asus board, and really there's no video cards out there that can even do pci-e 5.0 so it's not really a big deal.
The Asrock board is not worth it.. yeah you get pci-e 5.0 x16 slot, but you get the older (still excellent alc1220) and one of the m.2 slots is on the back of the board.

Go for 7900 if you can... 7700 is kinda bad price/performance compared to 7600 and 7900
