  1. Guys I have a problem Today tried booting my PC as normal, but after motherboard logo it stops outputting video. I can even get into Bios and everything, although for some reason resolution there is only 800 x 600 for some reason. Anyone knows what I can try? PC was working literally today. I turned it on, did some work and turned it off for 6 hours. Tried turning it back on and now this happens. EDIT: I've tried both CPU and GPU outs, same thing on both PC passes all boot checks, I get no errors EDIT 2: So as it turns out PC actually boots into windows. I waited for a bit after turning it on, then entered my password and I know it booted. I got windows notification sound and my RGB lights turned white, meaning Corsair software kicked in. So where is my video output????
  2. So I ended up ordering same LG 38GN950 monitor. So far no issues. Almost non existing bleed, good uniformity. Everything works as it should. Color calibration is great out of the box. Kinda expect it from LG to be this way. Pray to PCMR Gods for me this time xD
  3. Do you play much? I've seen horror stories about OLEDS developing burn ins in a few months. Even Linus did a video about his LG Oled that developed a burn in EDIT: I've checked delivery dates for Alienware OLED and earliest I can get it is early-mid December which isn't acceptable in my case. As for LG C2 it's simply too big. Even 38inch UW is cutting it a little over comfortable zone for me as I have to sit further from my desk. Putting a 42 inch TV would mean I have to either wall mount it and bring my desk a little further from the wall, or get a deeper desk. Another downside of the C2 is even more pixels to drive. 4k at 100+ is a struggle even for my 3080, although I plan on upgrading next year to something even more powerful. But still, 4k is no joke to run at high FPS
  4. I won't go with OLED panel because of burn in. Playing MMORGs or even shooters that have stationary HUD elements for a few hours every day means I will easily get burnt elements on the panel in a matter of months
  5. So last update After almost 6 weeks, they're refunding my old Gigabyte monitor after it was deemed "unrepairable" My LG monitor has been refunded in full (including shipping costs) So I'm on a quest for something else now. Thinking Dell Alienware because from what I've read online, they have excellent customer service and monitor warranty
  6. Hello again Here I am picking a monitor (again) Does anyone know if 10 bits matter in any way for gaming? Currently looking at Alienware 38 inch panel. It can output 10 bits at 120Hz, but drops to 8bit at 144Hz.
  7. Ok, so all it took wad a little agry email saying I was fed up with waiting. Now I guess I have to send a second email regarding my older monitor. Since EU laws specify that repair had to be done within "reasonable" amount of time, I can demand action because a month doesn't fit that description. Thank you for your help
  8. It's someonething I'm not that worried about. But those two invoices for 1000 and 50, those are refunds for monitor and its shipping costs?
  9. So I sent them a little heated email demanding a refund because what the hell.. Got two same emails with two different PDFs. I'm confused, they're sending back a refund? Sorry for bothering you with it, but you sound like someone who knows more than me regarding this stuff.
  10. It doesn't apply here. Monitor broke just over two week of purchase (September 14), not two weeks after receiving it (September 20th). I think two week period starts after you place an order, not after you physically receive the product.
  11. @Stahlmann Little update: My previous Gygabite monitor is still in the dark. It has been over a month now, I don't even know where it is... Seller (caseking.de) just received my LG monitor and sent me same old bs email. Sorry, nothing we can do, sending it over for a repair/refund/whatever. This is so bullshit. I have two monitors worth 1700 euros gone. No idea what is happening. I thought I had some rights to get an immediate refund because LG monitor broke 2 weeks after receiving it...but no. I feel like selling my PC and getting a PlayStation or an xbox at this point
  12. I'm considering trying Alienware again just for the sake of it, given I get a refund that is. I might get a replacement with no defects and live happily ever after
  13. Hey. Since I'm without a monitor (again), I want to have a discussion with you lads. Maybe it will make myself feel a bit better. My experience so far has been quite disastrous. First ever high end monitor I've bought for myself had a vertical line of dead pixels. I don't remember the model, but it was Alienware 34" Ultrawide 1080p. Costed around 750ish euros on Ebay. Thankfully I've been able to return it and get a refund straight away. Next I bought LG monitor with the same spec. 34 inch, 1080p ultrawide, gsync the whole lot. Used it for a few years. Not a single issue. When selling it, it has no faulty pixels, uniform back-light, no BLB. Basically looked and worked like brand new. Then I bought Gygabite M34WQ. Lovely budget monitor. IPS, 1440p Ultrawide, Gsync compatible. 10 months in, a vertical line of messed up pixels out of nowhere. For over I month now I'm waiting to hear from Gygabite about what's going on. They replacing it, repairing or what the hell... Now I decided, alright, I have a good job now, can afford some expensive toys. Went out and bought LG Ultragear 38GN950-B. One of the best ultrawides money can buy. 38 inches, basically 4k, just cut down on top and bottom. Amazing colors, brightness, almost no blb. My eyes were happy. 2 weeks in - stuck pixel. Red dot on grey/black background. I'm devastated. Seller (Caseking.de) gave me a free return label. Sent it off today. My Gygabite monitor went through the same procedure. I contacted the seller, they gave me a return label, but then told.me they'll be sending it to a manufacturer because there is nothing they can do. I'm HOPING for a replacement or straight refund now because I've reported the issue less than 30 days after purchasing the monitor. So MAYBE they will take it and issue a refund. But I don't get my hopes up... Whats your horror stories (if any) with monitor purchases. If you have any good one, post them too!
  14. I've tried giving it a massage with micro fibre cloth, using pixel unstick thing where is flashes all the colors, nothing works. Returning it tomorrow....
  15. Do you know how shit my luck is? So I RMAd that Gigabyte monitor and haven't heard from them since. Meanwhile decided to buy that 38 inch LG monitor because specs were top notch. Got it less than two weeks ago. Everything was good until today... Yep, red stuck pixel on a black background in less than two weeks....
  16. Here in the EU prices were always stupid. In Ireland this monitor costs 1600 euros, in Germany you can order it for 1000 + 30-100 euro delivery
  17. Why are you upgrading exactly? rm750s is plenty enough for 3080, even if you pair it with somemething like overclocked 12700k
  18. Can you define "small budget"? Have you tried looking around local marketplaces?
  19. What case do you have? Are you planning on overclocking? For that price I would go with Dark Rock Pro 4. This thing is a god damn cooling monster. Pretty much the best you can get. If you want something more tame, you can do with non "Pro" version. 20. It's cheap sensor that historically is filled with issues such as spin out. What mouse pad are you using? Have you tried cloth/plastic pads?
  21. As mentioned above, it should last a few years. In general, I think it's a good practice to change your thermal paste every 24 months.
  22. Alot of the times I have to mess around with hex editor to make cutscenes work. This was the case even for Witcher 3. I've done some research on 3840 x 1600 resolution and it appears there are fixes for older games, but they're few and far between. Not gonna lie, getting more future proof monitor with higher resolution and higher spec overal. So I'm at a cross roads now. Go with old and trusted 1440p, or take a gamble, pay a little more and go with a higher end monitor.
  23. Yes, I have bad karma for non-LG monitors. I owned Samsung TV it died within 6 months. I went with LG TV, and God help me, but it has been 3 years and no issues. Same with monitors. I owned 2 LG monitors, and never had a single issue with them. When upgrading from my 29-inch 75Hz LG, I bought 34" 1080p Alienware. It arrived with a defect. Quite similar defect actually. Only then it was a vertical purple line. Sent it back and got a refund. Bought same spec LG, used for over 2 years and it works flawlessly. Sold it to a friend when bought this Gigabyte one. He still uses it, and I'm left with a piece of junk >.< So now I want a high-quality LG monitor again.
  24. That Alienware monitor is ridiculously priced compared to decent Lg monitors. AW3423DW is 1400 euros 34GP950G is 900 34GN850B is 200 euros cheaper at 700 So, I guess it's between those two. At 1000-euro mark there is LG 38GN950-B which is bigger and badder version of 34GP950. It looks great but resolution of 3840 x 1600 seems a little sus. Yes, it's a 21:9 and I do have the horsepower under the hood to power it. But I'm not sure how some games run on it. I'd like to play some older games from time to time, and I have 1440p UW nailed down for all of them through hours of pain and suffering. I have no idea how they would work on a higher res.
