  1. Sorry for the late reply! This is all super helpful information! And just regular crucial ballistic ram! I double checked the height clearance and it checked out
  2. That's very true, would the Noctua NH-D15S or Noctua NH-U12S do the job? Sorry, I don't usually use air coolers, but I should definitely brush up on them
  3. Sorry just wanted to say that we swapped over to a i7 7700K for budget reasons. Still kind of stuck between the Noctua and Dark Pro coolers
  4. Hi all! I'm currently building a PC for a friend and he's on a bit of a higher budget (budget nonetheless), so I'm trying to see which cooler would be best for an i7 7700K. I settled on the Be Quiet CPU cooler, but trying to pick which one. I'm between the: be quiet! Dark Rock 4 Air Cooler and the be quiet! Dark Rock 4 Air Cooler Pro. I'm mostly worried about case clearance which is why I'm hesitant to buy the pro version To be safe, i thought I would use a Be Quiet case (cases seem hard to come by now? I guess since everybody is working from home): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087D7KNL9/ref=nav_timeline_asin?_encoding=UTF8&th=1. Would the pro version make that much of a difference? Also I'm open to any other air cooler suggestions! I already looked at the Noctua D15, but they seem super similar in performance. Thanks!!
  5. I have it turned on! The thing is that I use Whatsapp sometimes and I can send GIFS and pictures just fine on that. So I don't know if there was a weird update for Messages and thats the problem or if it's something else.
  6. Hi all, Currently, I'm using Android (Google) messages with the Google keyboard. Lately, I haven't been able to send pictures or GIFS. It just says "Photo cannot be sent, Tap to try again". Was wondering if anybody else is having this problem. I've never had this problem before! Thanks, Steve
  7. I personally run a GTX 1080 8 Gig edition with no problem running VR games and regular Triple AAA Titles. If it helps any, I developed a hefty VR project on the 1080 and went just fine! You could also look into the 2070-2080 series as well. But nothing is ever future proof.
  8. Sorry so just to clarify, you just changed the case and RAM? Can you link us or post the specs?
  9. In my opinion, you should get them from Nvidea GeForce Experience! GeForce can automatically notify you of new drivers and such.
  10. Hi all, So for some reason I can't figure this out. Basically, I have a BLU Vivo X, and the green notification light keeps blinking even though I cleared all my notifications! I feel like its some app that has a notification that I'm not aware of, or its glitched. But either way, I'm not sure how to fix it! Is there a way to clear all notifications from settings? Cheers! Steve
  11. Sorry I forgot the link! https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10749/windows-10-find-product-key
  12. Here is an article directly from Microsoft as to how you can locate your key (depending on your particular situation).
  13. I actually just researched this topic as a friend of mine is in the same situation (except that he is moving to a new motherboard). Here is what I found: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-transfer-windows-10-license-new-computer-or-hard-drive You basically deactivate Windows on the old HDD and then reactivate it onto the new one. I don't know if this works as I haven't tried it yet.
  14. It's not worth the money. I'd almost pay the $85 fee to restock it and see if they will refund you your money. (This is all my opinion though!)
  15. Hi all! I'm building a budget build for my friend and I was originally going to water cool his i5 9400, but he opted for air cooling. Since he's on a budget, I'm trying to figure out the best CPU cooler for a budget build! The case I'm using is a NZXT h500. I was originally going to go with a Noctua Air Cooler, but when I put in a Noctua NH-U14S in the same case during a different build, it BARELY fit. So I'm trying to avoid it due to space. Here are the ones I was looking at: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HPXZF2I/ref=psdc_11036281_t4_B07BYP9S95 https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-RR-212S-20PK-R1-Contact-Silencio/dp/B07H25DYM3/ref=sxin_2_ac_d_pm?keywords=cpu+air+cooler&pd_rd_i=B07H25DYM3&pd_rd_r=85aedda0-cff5-4809-98c9-0b2586eb874d&pd_rd_w=6ZbXV&pd_rd_wg=2rfBh&pf_rd_p=64aaff2e-3b89-4fee-a107-2469ecbc5733&pf_rd_r=B3EGGVKQ9K78TFAQW9MX&qid=1561423251&s=gateway https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-RR-212E-20PK-R2-Direct-Contact/dp/B005O65JXI/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=Cooler+Master+-+Hyper+212+EVO+82.9+CFM+Sleeve+Bearing+CPU+Cooler&qid=1561423546&s=gateway&sr=8-3 Thanks guys! Cheers
  16. Hi all! I just have a question about a microphone. So basically, I am creating a trailer for a VR game that I am making for a school project and I plan on conducting interviews for the trailer (then putting them in the trailer). I'm looking for a budget clip-on microphone to record the audio while I conduct the interviews. I plan on using my Nikon D5500 camera to visually record the interview, and Adobe Audition to edit and clean up the audio. I don't have any experience when it comes to these microphones, so I thought I'd ask! I was looking at these: https://www.amazon.com/Professional-Omnidirectional-Microphone-Smartphones-Cancelling/dp/B073QP48RV/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=clip%2Bon%2Bmicrophone&qid=1555083082&s=musical-instruments&sr=1-4&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075JHG28K/ref=sspa_dk_detail_9?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B075JHG28K&pd_rd_w=5zdSj&pf_rd_p=80559f3c-f83b-49c1-8a72-40f936e9df7a&pd_rd_wg=YqGuE&pf_rd_r=92229W939GCZ4170ZZVV&pd_rd_r=18363cc0-5d38-11e9-b1c8-45093f8a9dce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KYQ9SCF/ref=psdc_196575011_t1_B01N9O7KWY Thanks guys! Steve
  17. Would this be too much? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L7UZMAK/?tag=isgpunerd-20
  18. I always thought that water cooling would be better vs air cooling. I know it usually depends on the situation though, but would an air cooler keep it from reaching 85C?
  19. What would be a good cooler for a 7700K? Right now I have a Corsair h00v2. I would do my own watercooling, but right now, I just don't have the time, so I've been using AIO's.
  20. When I first open my scene, I see my CPU spike up to around 85C for a couple of minutes, then it starts to drop back down to mid 70's-60's once its done loading. The scene itself runs fine, it's just that my CPU gets toasty. I'm doing a VR project, and my 7700K has been able to handle the entire scenes up till the very last bits. The computers at my college have Xeons and I have been using those to finish the tail end of the scenes, but it's just annoying to transfer these big files back and forth.
  21. Hi all, So lately I've been doing some hefty projects in Unity, so my question is do you think I should upgrade my 7700K to a 9900K? Or should I upgrade my water cooling? My CPU tends to get toasty with these big projects. My current specs: Core i7 7700K GTX 1080 32 gigs DDR4 Thanks! Steve
  22. Hi all, I just have a quick question about my i7. So I have an AIO Corsair H100 V2, and some of these temperatures are making me nervous. I do know that the Kaby Lake series tends to run a bit hot, but I just want to make sure that these are safe temperatures. Right now, I have Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, Mozilla Firefox and Windows Explorer open and these are my temps (Linked in picture). Sometimes when I am using Unity, my CPU ramps up pretty hot, mid 80's I'd say, and to be fair, the project I'm working on is pretty hefty. Are these safe temperatures? Should I think about upgrading my cooler? Thanks!! Steve
  23. Thanks guys!! Your right, it is pretty pricey. I'll probably just end up putting it in my PC and selecting the right boot drive.
  24. My only concern with that is it has Windows 10 on it and I don't want it to try to boot from the NVME, but I'm assuming I can change the boot sequence if need be?
  25. That picture is from Amazon, I say the Ebay listing is a scam:
