  1. Hi. I'm having issues trying to record or stream CS:GO. Whenever I open the recording software, the game starts running extremely poorly. Strangely enough, I don't get a drop in FPS (the game still runs at a steady 300+ FPS) but moving and looking around turns it into a laggy and choppy mess. This happens even when I'm not recording or streaming but just have OBS open with CS:GO running. The resulting stream or recording runs perfectly smooth, but the game itself becomes borderline unplayable.I doubt it has much to do with my PC's specs (i7 7700k, GTX 1080, 16GB of RAM) as I manage to stream and record all of my other games (some of which are more demanding than CS, such as BF1 or DOOM 2016 at high settings) without any of these effects. Playing and streaming CS:GO, I still have ample room/power to spare in my GPU, CPU and memory (none of which break 45% usage even when recording, streaming and playing simultaneously).I have already tried to mess around with my OBS settings and turned my in-game graphics all the way down without any major effect. Google shows I'm not the only one with the problem, but none of the supposed quick fixes have done much for me. It does not happen with any of my other games and I'm dumbfounded as to why this is the case now. I normally wouldn't really care too much about one game not running properly, but I have only recently built my first PC and am now somewhat concerned about there being issues with my PC itself. Thanks for any advice.
  2. Thanks, it is a bit expensive but not too bad. What do you think about this one? https://www.amazon.fr/MSI-Z270-SLI-PLUS-Socket/dp/B01N5LSIYI?SubscriptionId=AKIAJ7T5BOVUVRD2EFYQ&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B01N5LSIYI&tag=linustechti08-21
  3. What do you guys think about this one? https://www.amazon.fr/MSI-Z270-SLI-PLUS-Socket/dp/B01N5LSIYI?SubscriptionId=AKIAJ7T5BOVUVRD2EFYQ&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B01N5LSIYI&tag=linustechti08-21
  4. M.2 is for SSD's, right? I don't think I'll be getting one of those yet. No clue what Optane is either. Would there be issues using a 7700k on a Z170, as others have suggested?
  5. Similar to what I'm at now. I'd say that 140-150€ would be the max?
  6. Nothing against you or your decision man. Just had a bad experience or two with ebay. For something as big and pricey as my first build (especially because I've never had to put together or set up a PC of my own) I would just prefer to get parts new and enjoy the warranty / not go through a mess if there's something wrong.
  7. Not really looking to buy second hand on something as major as PC parts, I think.
  8. Straight and to the point. Thanks! What about the mobo?
  9. Hey, I'm putting together my first PC and am unsure what CPU to put in. This is my current draft of the build (only part bought is the GPU): PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor (€339.99 @ Amazon Deutschland) CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler (€39.08 @ Amazon Deutschland) Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (€152.89 @ Mindfactory) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (€125.99 @ Amazon Deutschland) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (€97.57 @ Amazon Deutschland) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (€52.79 @ Amazon Deutschland) Video Card: GALAX GeForce GTX 1080 8GB EX OC Video Card Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case (€57.48 @ Amazon Deutschland) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Case Fan: Cooler Master SickleFlow (Blue) 69.0 CFM 120mm Fan (€6.51 @ Amazon Deutschland) Monitor: Asus VG248QE 24.0" 1920x1080 144Hz Monitor (€267.76 @ Amazon Deutschland) Total: €1140.06 For reference, the difference in price between the 6700k and 7700k is about €20. Any advice on the motherboard would be nice too (Z170 or Z270). I'm currently looking at the MSI Z270 SLI Plus, but don't know if it's worth it over, say, a Z170-P by Asus. Thanks!
  10. Just bought it. Thanks for the advice.
  11. Yeah, I put it in my orders already. Just gotta pull the trigger now. I think many of the others cards have already dropped their prices a lot (used to be around 650€ back in November / December).
  12. 2 years warranty it seems. Thanks EU.
  13. Thanks, just checking that out now.
  14. Yeah, I figured it had something to do with that, but other cards are still quite a bit more expensive.
