Hello all, I built my 3rd PC in 2015 and was due to upgrade right when covid hit and the market has been a bit crazy since then. My motherboard died recently and I need to upgrade now.
I presently had an asus x99a mb, 16 gb ddr4 vengeance ram, 5820k cpu, asus strix 1070 and a seasonic x750 power supply.
To get back up and running due to the mb issue I plan to update everything but the power supply and the graphic card. That will be my next pay check to address.
I live in the US and have a rough budget of 1,000 dollars for the mb, cpu, ram and heat sink. I do love my noctua heatsink so I plan to stick with them.
I stopped by my local micro center and the guy there recommended to me a intel 13700k, z790 tomahawk mb, 32 gig ddr5 gskill 6000 and a noctua nh d15 for all around 930 bucks.
I mostly game on the PC, but nothing to major. Most eso online, cyberpunk, God of War and other stuff. I do some 3d modeling for my 3d printers but nothing to intense.
Is the recomendations made a good option and price, any other suggestions people have? I usually try and aim for 5 year complete new build and want something that will still be good then.
