HI all, I know this is an old thread but in the next month or so the desk case project should be going live! (any suggestions as to names would be very helpful!) However if anyone is interested in one please feel free to email me at james@inside-tech.co.uk I haven't got an agreed cost from the manufacturer yet but I am hoping to sell a 3/400 option along with a larger slightly overkill 9/1000 option. Will be putting it on kickstarter soon also. You guys have been a great help! And happy new year! James.

I am sure I can design it so the back panel is interchangeable, the slot for the motherboard mount could then go middle, left or right along with the holes at the back and then just sell with the option chosen or sell the spares separately so people can change at a later date. The glass panel at the top being interchangeable might be complicated/expensive as it would lose quality if it was removable - so would start moving the price up on the cheaper model which I really wouldn't want. thoughts?

Haha yeah why not! I do hope this takes off haha putting a lot into this at the moment For the cheaper option I was thinking to go for something a little like this? Obviously colour would be an option - doesnt have to be white. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371601132020 I will have them manufacture it with the drawer so you can pull it out for maintenance and a false bottom for cable management

Any more thoughts guys? I am having a motherboard tray manufactured for the desk and was thinking a side loading GPU slot would be more attractive as you could see the GPU Or would people be more interested in an SLI arrangement?

This is actually a project I am working on right now- manufacturing both a high and low end of desk case. I will keep you posted on progress! And any thoughts from people on here with regards to what they would expect to see would be of great help as I am still in design stage.

Just an update for those that commented before - I have started selling these now with the case sent before - project aside having used this case for the first time the NZXT 340 is a really good case and I would recommend for anyone. The only downside I have found with it is the hard drive cage - somehow the way it is fitted it vibrates notably in the chassis so you'll have to have some rubber screw fittings handy to bring that down a bit! Or just go fully SSD. all in not a bad case for £60 odd

For those who really want to go crazy they have said they can put an electronic height adjustment in there too but that would be talking about £600 extra all in so I probably wont invest in putting that into each one but just if someone wanted it I will offer the option. I have many options as to the design but I think a hard wood top is my own personal preference? but it can be any kind of wood/any colour. For the "ikea" option I would probably offer it a cheaper painted wood as this would get the price down quite significantly. James.

Haha, well I will put a note on this thread of my website when things are up and running - I think I will take the last comments on board and design one with the £400 mark with the "Ikea" like minimalism and then gear one up for the higher end of the market around the £1000. So far in terms of manufacture I have a quote on the higher end, not too dissimilar to the picture I included at the top - at around the 900 mark so I would look to retail them around the £1000 - but I can get discounts on buying in bulk - so lets hope I don't end up with 20 tables sitting in my shed for eternity! any design preferences over the image already attached feel welcome to let me know! for being part of the process I am happy to pass on the desk at my cost price to any of you guys who have commented in this thread helping me out! Hopefully will help me raise awareness when it finally rolls out - just leave me good feedback and I can put it on my website!

I am finalizing the design with manufacturers so thus far nothing to post, soon as I have my first one fully built I am going to take a collection of pictures to post on the site and get things going! Soon as things get going I will open up another thread for people to have a look around! my website is currently under development and is far too embarrassing to post just now

@TidaLWaveZ Thank you, I was of the same mind to be honest, I can definitely manufacture them and sell them cheaper - its just finding an outlet to sell them. I am making a website for myself and going to have to do some SEO to get it up on google - fingers crossed!

@ItsTheDuckAgain I have seen the Lian Li desks and I must be honest I really dont like how they look, i wouldnt be competing with them in design at all in all honesty. I have attached the desk that best suits the idea I want to follow -

Hi all, I have recently started a PC building company and have sourced a manufacturer who is going to construct a PC desk case where the PC will be set into the table with a glass top to enable you to view the components inside. My question to you all is.....is it worth it?! would you buy such a thing, and if so how much would you be willing to pay! Designs are in the pipeline so I cant give you an exact image of how it looks but there are quire a few custom mods out there that will give you at least an idea. any feedback at all would be greatly appreciated!
