Taylor Sochocki's Achievements

  1. Ok thanks. I won't really need a new laptop until fall when school starts up anyway.
  2. I can say for sure it's the same where you are, but if I visit Dell's site through my companies employee benifits portal I can buy a computer at a discounted rate. Some sort of deal my company has with Dell because they but so many computers from Dell
  3. Greetings I am currently looking to replace my 5 year old Lenovo Thinkpad w530 with a shiny new laptop. I have created a spreadsheet of laptops I have looked at so far laptop.xlsx. I know I want something with a gtx 1060 or better and g sync, and high refresh rate. Being as rugged as my old Thinkpad would be a bonus. Also I have an opportunity to purchase and alienware 15 with the older 7th gen i7 at a steeply discounted rate through work but i have to order by tomorrow by 11 eastern standard time. If anyone has some suggestions on what I should buy or if i should wait and see what options I have as manufactures roll out their updated designs with the new 8th gen intel chips, i would appreciate you advice.
  4. After some consideration I have decided to switch to less expensive, and less RGB ram, even thought I was planing on doing an RGB themed build inspired by tuner car culture. I plan on keeping the case and replacing the PSU. I'm still trying to decide exactly how much to allocate to this project. Do you think I could get a 7700k to 5ghz OC'd on a Cryorig H5 (160W TDP) or a Dark Rock 3 (190W TDP) or a Dark Rock Pro 3 (250W TDP)?
  5. @WoodenMarker so far all I have is a Cooler Master 431 Elite plus case and an off brand PSU that a friend gave me. However I am planning on buying some G.Skill Trident Z RGB ram in my build. I'm located in Michigan, as for budget, it's kinda fluid I have recently received a decent sum of money but I have to save some of it for school. I just haven't decided how much I plan to allocate to this build yet.
  6. could you give some examples, I'm planing a 7700k build want to OC to 5ghz if I can, but my case won't support a dual rad AIO so im stuck with air, (the case is a cooler master 431 elite plus if it matters) I want an air cooler that will be able to dissipate the heat but also not cover up my ram. I was looking at the cryorig r1 universal but its to tall for the case.
