  1. I've got a H81i with a g3258 and am in a similar situation, differing perhaps in that i managed to find my problem with bios OCing, which was solved by upgrading from windows 7 to windows 10 (bringing with it a slew of other problems, but hey, i can at least overclock now i guess... yay? Thank god for it not being my main pc). But i've been wanting to tinker a bit in XTU mostly to satiate my curiosity but the freaking thing will 1. Not change any even slightly overclocking related settings 2. Constantly reset my overclock unless i remember to kill anything related to XTU if i've had it open before rebooting 3. Overclocking lock is always on lock and if i try to swap it to unlock i have to reconfigure all my overclock settings on the reboot (have tried just letting it boot without opening bios as well) but after i open XTU it just tells me that it couldn't be applied. Now i'm not exactly in the most dire of situations and the only thing hurting is my need to try this thing (and now solve this problem), but i'm dropping this at least to show there's more then 1 person struggling with this problem. Oh and if you haven't already, try to either do a fresh OS install (not sure if it'll work as i didn't try this one, possible though) or upgrade to 10/downgrade to 7 (if you're on 8... umm... gl hf?), it worked like a charm for me, have done so on another g3258 with another motherboard as well with the exact same problem(can't remember what board, it was ages ago).
