Haha no, missed that part cause the damn text is near unreadable for dark mode users

Maybe check your mount and repaste, h170i shouldnt be that bad, not as good as arctic liquid freezer but definitely not a garbage aio

But memory isn't everything. as the person above you said by the time 12GB isn't enough, my GPU will probably not be enough in terms of raw performance. I think by that point I'd have to upgrade my GPU if I want good performance on high settings regardless of how much VRAM it has.

I get your point though that you want to expect the worst, but with 620$ I don't think it's worth it, i guess i'm more 'expected value' oriented than worse case. I think I could save the difference (about 400$ with the upgrades I made), and start saving up until the day comes where I'll have to upgrade, and whether it be GPU power or VRAM shortage, I think those 400$, with some saving up, will probably give me the money I need to upgrade.

I see. I guess it would be best to wait for the CPUs prices to normalize too then?

That's what I am saying. I don't think this an across the board solution, this is entirely about the future RTX 4000 series and CMP cards.

I think they are testing methods of crippling the RTX cards and seeing how miners try and circumvent them. They'll mitigate the work arounds they find and when they are confident with an end solution they'll roll those changes into the RTX 4000 series before it releases.

The idea for Nvidia is to force miners on the CMP cards down the road.

I think its just a PR stunt to get gamers to think Nvidia actually cares who they're selling GPUs, although its a really clever marketing move because most people will probably assume its a good thing, while Nvidia and the AIBs still sell directly to miners.
Apparently the RTX 3060 can still make up to $7 a day even being nerfed.

    doxiMAN_MAN got a reaction from Slayerking92 in Will My 1950x Be a Bottleneck With a 3080?
I've had a ryzen threadripper 1950x with a 1080Ti for about 3 years now and after getting 50 fps in cyberpunk on lowest settings (and for future games ofc) i've decided want to upgrade to the RTX 3080.
My 1950x is overclocked to 3.7Ghz all cores for about 1-2 months now (was base clock before that),so it shouldn't lose any performance for a while. Will it give me any bottlenecks if I get the 3080 (and maybe overclock it)? Because speed-wise, 3.7x16 is still decent even in today's standards, right?

PSU is 1000W, so I should be fine on that regard.
    thanks.
