TheGlenlivet reacted to anothertom in Help! Studio Monitor setup to 2 Computers
Nope, shouldn't have any problems switching back and forth so long as it works with both systems. If you set it as the default device in each system, it'll take over from anything else plugged in.

TheGlenlivet got a reaction from Chiranjeet Bhattacharya in Linux cinnamon vs XFCE vs Mare which is best overall performance, app support to gaming editing everything
These aren't Distros, they are desktops. Trey can all run the same applications. Try them all and pick the one you like best.

TheGlenlivet reacted to NumLock21 in RX 5600 XT still unstable even after updating
To avoid the hassle, return that card and get a Nvidia.
Edit:
The problem isn't the card, the problem is the drivers provided by AMD. Try a older driver may help, but you won't be able to update to the latest one, or hope their future driver update will fix it.

No, you are just bridging those 2 pins. As long as it's metal.

Go to page 17 of your manual and look at the connector diagram there. Pull the connector off the power switch and then use your screw driver to touch bother of the pins at the same time. If it still doesn't start then, it sounds like it's either the motherboard or PSU are bad.

TheGlenlivet got a reaction from Daweeedo in Fans
Pure wings 2 and Noctua Chromax series are both black and quiet. The Noctua are a bit more than $20 though.
There are a LOT of choices out there for fans, but I have used both of these and can attest to them being quiet and powerful.

JINX! You owe me a coke.

TheGlenlivet reacted to minibois in DOLPHIN
Yes, it has been used for years. It's a truthworthy program (provided you get it from the right places).
It will not do harm to a computer, including its hard drive.

Couldn't you use a PCIE expander card?

TheGlenlivet got a reaction from antonyvo in 3 fan case optimal configuration?
The theory I have always heard was to have more intake that exhaust to keep positive pressure inside the case which would keep dust out.
Experimenting with your specific case and fans would be a good idea.

TheGlenlivet reacted to NickDiMaria in H100i Pro XT Ticking
To check that it wasn't my fans i just put all the fans at 0 RPM. The only other option is that it is coming from my graphics card which i am going to check now.

TheGlenlivet reacted to DarklordGaming99 in Pc doesn't turn on after power outlet sparked
The outlet seems to be working fine with my phone charger, so it's probably the psu.

They will, but with a delay. If you have a best buy or similar near you they have units in stock too that you can buy and pick up at the door.
Have you checked the outlet with something else to make sure it works ok? Just to eliminate that possibilty.

TheGlenlivet reacted to skeeler88 in Buying a new keyboard. HELP!
I would say the reds are too soft and not as “clicky” as the razor ornata chroma. I have a micro center nearby with a good return policy

TheGlenlivet got a reaction from skeeler88 in Buying a new keyboard. HELP!
In my opinion, this is a massively personal thing. Recommending a keyboard won't give you the experience you need to say whether you like it or not.
If you can't go to a store to try out a potential keyboard, I'd buy from a place that has a good return policy. You could be trying and returning until you find what you like.
That said, what is wrong with the reds? Too firm, not enough?

TheGlenlivet got a reaction from GogoIchi in Ram ECC and NON-ECC.
If you are running a server or always up workstation where stability is more important than performance (ECC is usually slower than non ECC) then it can be good to get.
If you are just gaming, surfing and making videos etc., then it's not worth it.

100%
QB redefines normal when it comes to corruption.
If you are entering data all day from multiple users you need to look at a way to ensure you have frequent back ups that can't be overwritten or deleted by accident.
Don't ask me how I know this....

TheGlenlivet reacted to Radium_Angel in Server computer for Quickbooks
I've run quickbooks servers on less hardware than that, so that part is fine, with a few warnings:
QB seems to like to corrupt its database more often than I feel is "normal" I'd ensure you have some real solid backups, so I'd add a spinner or two to the build, and have daily and weekly backups.
Also, ensure your network is robust, QB can eat a lot of bandwidth

Its fine since it has a Pcie slot. And Since MSI comfirmed it, it should be just fine.

Change the boot order to boot from your usb stick first. It seems to be booting from the old drive.

Thats also not the reason Im changing. I'd like to get a new case, psu and graphicscard and in my prebuild this wont be possible and I'd like to take the CPU out and put it in the new one

TheGlenlivet got a reaction from Fasauceome in Will it meet my requirements?
Yes.
Considering a 1060 is still running the newest games and is 3 years old, I would say yes.
Now, AAA games at ultra settings with 60FPS, no, but you can run them.
