  1. So I recently got another new camera and I generally trying different every do often and this one is a D-link camera with the OnVif feature. Connects to blue iris just fine but then I get the error of "not enough bandwidth" on and off. I never had a camera do this before they just always lower fps a bit if theres an issue but this one just disconnects. Does anyone have an idea how to get around this? The internet in that area isn't even slow so I'm not sure why it's being so picky.... I'm also not sure if this is a blue iris thing or camera thing. The camera is a DCS-8302LH, luckily it has on board recording with a micro sd card so I always have security recordings regardless but I'd prefer it go to my main system.
  2. So I have maple trees on the farm and some of them I tap to make syrup for us and our friends. Just tapped them the other day although apparently people have been tapping them for a while already, no worries I'm not doing it for any huge amount.... anyways last night it rained and it had been cold before that. I expected a reasonable amount of sap but got an insane amount out of 2 of my larger trees. Tree #1 is a massive rock maple tree and I got 15 gallons of sap from it in the last 24 hours..... 5-7 is usually impressive. Tree #2 that is about 50 feet from Tree #1 did about 12-15 gallons with 5 usually being impressive for it.... It's great I'll be able to make a big first batch but I have never seen that level of output. All my other trees were about normal amounts of sap. Anyone else ever had like a super sap day.?
  3. They did for the first year or so that I used it.... then it basically disappeared. I'll wait another week or 2 for a response before I go too crazy
  4. Blue iris records, does seprate motion recording, now does face tracking and license plate ID if you want it. I basically just want recording and the separate motion detection
  5. So I have used blue Iris for a few years now without issue until this summer..... the two issues I have appear to be rare enough that I haven't found others with them. When I first got the software support was great and had a good response rate and solved problems easily.... I hadn't had to contact them for a while and now it appears the support line is dead. First email failed and second one had no responses , they still do alot of updates but without decent support It's not that great. So now that we have that out of the way I am curious what the good softwares are now? I'm sure there are new and probably better softwares since I started with blue iris. So I am looking for recommendations as to a new software for my security cameras
  6. I have it all setup for inch now, makes sense since the rest of the system is inch. The other thing I'm working on is better filtration, this is for watering plants so comes from a big pond so of course there is dirt.... most common filters want to take things out to the very fine level and I just need it to take out anything big enough to mess up the watering wands and such... so I'm working on that because plugged filters is annoying. Hard part too is with the fertilizer injector I have to make it so the pipes line up perfectly and theres 0 strain on the fittings since they are all made of plastic..... which even though it's designed to handle heat and UV it still gets brittle since it's extreme in the greenhouse. So because of this theres a few extra loops of pipe to take the strain off which can also cause friction but not too much it seems. Not as bad as 90s do.... Being able to sustain 3-4 high volume nozzels is more difficult than you would think..... Anyways it seems it's all figured out but I do enough telling a story lol
  7. It varies alot.... anyways the new fertilizer injector has the fittings in a different place than the old one. Old one had the fittings on the bottom and this has them on the top. So I need to change a bunch of stuff anyways so may as well just go with 1 inch. I thought I would save fittings but I won't anyways so no point in doing the 3/4. It's much more of a complicated calculation than I thought lol and with the fittings on the top it's a shorter distance so I may as well make it all the same. I'm a farmer so these kind of things go through my head like crazy all the time..... always a problem to solve or somthing to build. Thanks for the information though!
  8. I'm trying to find a decent flow rate chart that's more than just a wild ballpark number. Simple question that I should learn the math to but have not yet..... Water pressure is 50Psi, pipe size is 3/4 what is my max flow rate? Also the same for 1 inch. Lets assume just an open ended pipe. Theres charts online that are like 3/4 is 11GPM at under 20PSI and 23 at 20-100 PSI. Does that mean it's 11Gpm at 20 psi and 23 at 100? Is it an average? I need more than a guess lol... Basically I'm upgrading somthing and need to support 18-20Gpm, 1 inch will definitely do it but It was already set up as 3/4 in this part..... My gut tells me to just make it all 1 inch as the rest of the system is 1 inch but I also usually overkill things so I may just be wasting money doing that....
  9. Haha no you owe her nothing, maybe help her pick out a phone? Besides Iphones are garbage so she should get a better phone anyways . You used intelligence to find a phone to not have to spend that money, it dosen't mean you now owe her the money.
  10. Not a huge fan of feeding cats at the foot of my bed but that does seem to be helping her learn. It's bizzare their sense of smell, fresh cleaned sheets and the cats look at me like I put food in her litter box. They can smell even just a tiny trace of the smell... most likely from the mattress since that won't fit in my washer lol. Overall shes figuring it out slowly, my other cat is quite confused by it though lol.
  11. It did it again, twice this week the software changed the ip configured in blue iris to that of the repeater/switch that they are attached too. How can this code exsist for the software to detect an ip and change the camera configuration in blue iris on it's own but software no one knows about it..... really odd
  12. I'm honestly not sure how this is even possible in the software.... are they experimenting with some auto-detection feature and it just happened to enable on my PC but is super broken?
  13. This is interesting because everyone thinks I mean that the cameras address is changing on the network. That is not the case, the address in the BI config that BI looks for is what is changing on it's own and it usual is a bunch changing to the address of another camera or to the address of another device in the network. Also I also just use windows 10 and standard hardware, worked great for a long time before these issues came up of not keeping record of the clips it's recording and the ip changing in the software.
  14. Does anyone here use blue Iris for their security cameras? I used it for a few years and only started having issues this summer. There is 2 main things that happen.. 1. The software will keep recording but suddenly stop keeping record of it and the timeline goes blank so eventually the drives fill and recording stops as the recycling/delete feature also stops. This usually happens after minor updates to the software. 2. The software randomly changes the IP that is listed to the camera to the Ip of the repeater it links too. So one of the repeaters has 4 cameras on it and it's address is .1.252.... so suddenly all of the cameras has that address in the software and it keeps pinging them which results in the entire network getting messed up. I am guessing they added some feature so that if a cameras address changes in a DCHP setup that it tries to find it and it's finding the repeaters address? If so how would this be disabled.... Anyways I know when I first started using blue Iris I found out about it on here so idk if anyone who uses it is still here or not?
  15. I'm also gunna try the feeding her treats at the foot of my bed thing, build some residual cat food smell .......yay loll. It may help her figure it out though. I wonder if I have any lemons...
  16. Good information, hopefully I can figure out something and also she has to go to the vet soon anyways for the rest of her shots so a good time to ask. The unusual thing is usually it's an issue with the cat not using the box at all or going in a corner, in this case the cat associates my feet with the litter box and my feet do not smell that bad! Yes it got on the matress but I have used specific cleaners on it, like I said she goes to my feet regardless whare the remnants of the old spot are. Also I tried locking her out and just having my other cat there but shes a ragdoll cat.... they absolutely lose their minds if they can't get to you. Wailing non stop until you let them in, so that didn't go well, I keep putting her on the floor when she goes down by my feet trying to get her to realize she can't go there. She likes to dash to her water dish so I moved it near the litterbox room so she maybe is close enough to catch on and go there. I'll try the food trick, maybe I need some clone that makes my feet smell like cat food... lol
  17. Sheets no, mattress yes and it appears it accidentally made a connection between my feet and a spot to pee. It can be in that bed from morning until late night and no issue but as soon as I lay down it goes to my feet to pee, we are working on it though..... obviously it dosen't stay in bed all day it just is there and has no issue, goes to the box ect.... until I lay down. Also you can spay a cat that tiny? It's like the size of a potato I thought they had to be bigger than that is why I haven't done anything yet. Every time it goes too my feet I just carry it to the box to do it's thing... but if I'm asleep I don't catch it obviously.
  18. Usually it's just the after taste that is variable but can be good or not good. Tastes like leaves a bit when it's not great. A brita will not take the color away but it will further improve the taste.
  19. When I say tested I don't mean like a home kit, I mean like tested as safe by sending it to a professional testing site and the surface water is very clean in that sense.
  20. So our dog which is a rescue mix that I guess they call a "potcake" has a bizzare habit. It will let out a long like minute long howl in the middle of the night completely randomly, could be 6 months it dosen't do it and then suddenly it does it. It usually does it right next to my parents when they are sleeping and scares the life outta them lol. So anyways, does anyone know why a dog would do this, not only so sporadically but so intense and in the middle of the night next to sleeping people. It is both very bizarre and hilarious at the same time
  21. Note to everyone the water has been tested, UV has no trouble removing the dangerous stuff. The stream water I'm talking about is used by many many people and the lake it flows into as well. All they need to make it drinkable is UV and filters but it still is bad color and taste.
  22. I meant which of thoes is hardest to remove..... anywayss the reason is I have a building with 2 water sources and one is stream water which is clean other than dirt, color and the expected stuff. I also have a drilled well loaded with iron and with so much sulfur that it'll burn a cut or dry/cracked hand.... I can make the stream water drinkable and pretty decent with filters and UV but it will always have some dirt that may mess up the reverse osmosis. The other well has no dirt, no bacteria and is clean except tons of iron and sulfur... I figure it would be easier to clean up the stream water even if the membrane dosen't last as long. I assume getting that sulfur and iron out of the drilled well water would take alot of steps and be much more expensive than maybe having membranes last less time.
  23. Did anyone else ever do the whole room/home water cooling thing again? I did it for my servers having heat go outside and my house to send to heat and noise to another room but nothing like that old LTT video and at one point when I was still living with my parents I had my gaming PC and 3 servers on 1 loop with a RAD outside and quick connects ect.... It's really fun so I'm surprised it's not more common.
