  1. i do appreciate the input. however that isn't really what I wanted to know. I more so want a program that will tell me in theory keeps a log of what the computer is doing and its effects on the hardware where performance is concerned. So i would want it to record when things freeze or hang and what process that is happening for, but also the general usage data as well.
  2. just confirming. You are plugging them in directly to the motherboard not to case usb ports right?
  3. It is windows. Ill look into Perfmonitor! I wasn't necessarily just talking about usage percentage i guess. But i am not sure I know a better metric. Any ideas on better ways or metrics to use in that scenario? I have looked (and talked) to the software manufactures (Autodesk) about it. however our use case of said products is rather niche and having tried there recommendations, it was not extremely helpful. Thanks
  4. Hey guys, I have just agreed to upgrade all of the computers in my company, but the problem is figuring out what computers to get! (I am not actually looking for what computer to buy, please hang in there). Some back story. We receive very large models that we import and edit with a variety of software. and sometimes the files we get are upwards of 2 gigabytes per piece. So when they are opened or being worked on they freeze or cause the computer to hang. What I would like to do is to put some sort of program on the computer that just runs in the background and writes logs that tells me where the bottlenecks are while we are working on each specific type of file. that way I can look for components that would elevate those specific issues. Then i could run tests with other components to see if those issues are solved by changing what ever part (or parts) specifically causing the bottleneck. Thanks in advance. and sorry if this is a stupid question. Thanks in advance!
  5. I am thinking I may use this http://www.icron.com/products/icron-brand/kvm-extenders/cat5/el5363-hdmi-usb-2-0/
  6. I am hoping not to have to do those kinds of solutions but it seems that may be my only option. Thanks
  7. Yeah where I live the homes are very large. What network based solutions would you recommend?
  8. Yeah that is thunderbolt 2. The other problem is that my home is rough 14k square feet so that is not long enough.
  9. Do they make an optical thunderbolt 3 cable?
  10. That is what I want it to do. I would only be using one at a time
  11. Hey everyone, I am working on a new project in my home and I am looking for some advice. So I am going to buy the new Mac Pro and I want to put it in my server room, but I want to have the workstations in multiple rooms. So there would be 3 monitors in 3 different locations as well as keyboards and mice. I was thinking using thunderbolt 3 to a dock but I dont think they make cables long enough. There is an unlimited budget for this project so no idea is to expensive. I would love to know what everyone thinks. Thanks
  12. As a personal audiophile. I am using an amp/dac along with a pair of higher end Sennheisers. And i can hear the difference. but on the equipment you are describing, I can't imagine you being able to distinguish between 320 kbps, and FLAC or ALAC or WAV.
