  1. Thank you, I'm going to watch a review or two on the motherboard and then make a purchase If I like what I hear/see. Decided to go with 3000Mhz Dominator instead and stick with 16GB as 32GB is still a bit overkill and had to throw a new H100i V2 in there as well, may as well buy a new one when this ones nearing 5 years old.
  2. My system is/will be used for high end gaming. I have a 1080 which I'll move over to the new system.
  3. I'm located in the UK, reason for the title is simply because most prices are identical as stupid as that is. My past two builds have been ASUS & ASrock, both have had awful motherboards with constant issues.
  4. Okay, so to cut a long story short - I'm tired of my current system, I've had any number of problems with it over the past 12 months and I've already replaced multiple parts for it to continue having problems. My system is/will be used for gaming only, I intend to do nothing else with it. If possible would anyone be able to recommend me any of the following: PSU Motherboard (Preferably not ASUS/ASRock) RAM CPU I have roughly $1200 to spend, I cannot go over it at all unfortunately. As much as I would like to lol. Thank you for any help in advanced.
  5. It's on at the "Hit F2 to enter BIOS" and stays on until the blue Windows logo. Then the RGBS go off completely (Corsair K70, Razer Deathadder) and do not come back on or respond.
  6. We've rebooted about 50+ times without anything now. RGB lighting goes off on both mouse and keyboard BUT they do not work/move. They do in bios. I've tried this, we took 1 stick out and it didn't work at all, so we replaced that stick with the previous one and it began working again. See above reply. I'll see If there's anything else we can do.
  7. This is a bit of a weird situation, I'm posting on behalf of a friend who has literally zero other way of getting online. He's running an ASUS Rampage V Extreme (X99) and is currently unable to actually get into Windows at all, the second the Windows Icon appears during the boot sequence power to his USB devices all but disappears, although we've noticed It only seems to be for certain devices. Audio devices continue to work, mouse and keyboard refuse to. Is there anything he would be able to do to get power back to these devices? It seems he's unable to even boot into safe mode as It keeps telling him his overclocking settings are wrong, even when we've re-applied them and also forced boot from a different bios etc. I'm literally out of ideas so was just wondering If anyone else has encountered a similar issue?
  8. Either one would be fine, If one is faster than the other I'd rather take the faster one.
  9. Not going to lie, this doesn't help. I'm looking to be pointed in the right direction because I don't know exactly what I'm looking for exactly.
  10. I don't currently have a mobo that supports m.2, however I'd like to purchase 2 Samsung 960 EVO 500GB M.2 drives. Can anyone point me in the direction of an adapter that would be able to do this via a PCI card? I'm looking to spend under £20 on one - If possible.
  11. If I still drank, I'd literally take your advice and get the Noctuas lol. But I've just watched them drop 10c off of a H110i from stock fans so I'm hoping I get the same result!
  12. Unfortunately, I have done and It hasn't made the slight bit of difference. I've cleaned the radiator, fans etc and then remounted and pasted. The Noctua are £17, LL120 are £25 so It's not a massive difference when I only need 2 right now, thankfully.
  13. Quite the opposite, the colder it gets here in England the warmer my PC seems to get. Makes complete logical sense, right? I was just looking at different brands/models, I know investing in RGB fans for a cooler isn't the greatest idea but would the Corsair LL120 be any good? I was just thinking I could use them for the time being until I do my next build and buy a new cooler and everything anyway. [Edit] I was watching a video just a day or two ago on YouTube by Bitwit and I believe he dropped his temps 10c just by switching the fans on a H110i.
  14. I'm running a i7 4770K at 4.6Ghz and have done for years now without any heat issue, just recently I've noticed that my H100i seems to be having slightly more trouble than usual keeping the CPU cool. I used to average 62c when gaming at near full load but as of recent I'm struggling to stay clear of 80c which is a number I'd like to stay well below If possible. Could anyone suggest what fans would be a good replacement for the stock H100i? I'm not too bothered about price, I just want to get the temp down to a lower 70c or around there. [Edit] Idle: 41c Full load: 82c
  15. I looked at the 1600 route yesterday but wasn't to happy with what I found, decided to go with this and the Thermaltake V21 which puts me ever so slightly over budget but that's acceptable when you're gaining an extra 3000 in Passmark score alone.
  16. I'm only planning to use this system for a Plex Media Server & as a second stream PC for OBS/Twitch. Any parts that are missing from this list are only because I already own them (Windows, extra storage etc). I would appreciate any feedback: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/wrDs2R
  17. I've been looking into the current processors available and at my price, would a i5 7500 or Ryzen 1500X be a good investment?
  18. That would of helped If I included it. I'm willing to spend up to £6/700 but would ideally like to keep the price down if possible.
  19. The problem is, I can't stream and run Plex at the same time. Not just that but when I'm gaming intensively there is a lot of stress on the CPU where I can feel dips in games like Overwatch, Battlefield & PUBG. I can't think of others off of the top of my head. Either way, I would like to build a HTPC and If I could use it as a streaming system too that would be a huge plus for me.
  20. I'm currently running the spec in my sig below (4770K @ 4.4Ghz, GTX 1080 If It doesn't show) and have been trying to stream games at the same time as playing. My issue is, my system isn't handling it too well. I can stream to an extent but certain games are giving me dips in performance if they're CPU intensive. Secondly I'd like to be able to run a Plex server alongside this, running 3x 1080p streams at the same time (although unlikely, I just want to cover myself). Can anyone give me an insight into what I'd be looking at here? I'd like to keep the cost low BUT I'm not opposed to spending a bit more if It's going to keep me future proof and provide me with the performance I need rather than something that might not give me what I want. Edit: Budget - £500 - £700.
  21. Honestly, with the bad naming of these new processors It's easy to think the 7800X is the 7900X and It's like double the price lol.
  22. The 1700 is £300, the 7800X is £350. I'm gaming at 1440p@144Hz. I play pretty much everything, so Intel looks like the route to go for me. But I'm now considering hanging on for Cannonlake thanks to other people mentioning it.
  23. Sorry for the late reply, a storm took our internet down. I know I could go the 7700K route but frankly, I'd rather spend the extra and get the 7800X for one reason - streaming. If (and It's a big if) anything happens to the second stream PC then I'll be covered and should be able to stream from the 7800X without issues. Especially as I plan to overclock it as far as I can. As tempting as the 1700 is, the 7800 is only £50 more expensive meaning It's the same price as the 1700X for me.
  24. I did just mention that the price difference doesn't bother me, I just want what's best for what I'm doing.
  25. I've spent the past week putting together a new system and figuring out how to finance it, meanwhile Intel have been releasing new processors that I wasn't even aware of because I don't pay attention to the latest releases that much and just go for what's the latest at the time. I can see that the X299 motherboards are slightly pricier but that doesn't bother me, what would be better? I plan on gaming mainly, I'll be using it to stream to Twitch too but I'm hoping to have a two system setup to reduce lag. Can anyone offer me some advice please?
