It doesn't matter which connector you use, or which strings you use.

I just said there's a difference for the better if there's more individual wires between the power supply and the video card (so two strings with connectors at the end) compared to using just one string and both connectors on that string).

But everything will be just fine even with one single string

I would use this comparison as reference, bare in mind that sound quality is subjective and what may sound fine for someone may be unbearable to another.

They're great headphones haha, they're just some things to consider. The reason I said you'll want an Amp/DAC combo depending on the headphone is because the K612 Pros and Q701s are harder to drive than the others. Between the two, the 612 is the more neutral of the two, has less bass, a smaller soundstage though better imaging, and is more comfortable for me because of the bumps on the headband. There are other differences in the sound, but those are what I think you'll notice.

I totally recommend the AD700x's and the wing design is very comfortable and will fit almost any head.
If it somehow doesnt fit you, you can still send it back ,right?!
In FPS they are so damn good ,  music is also ''OK''.

I've had my Rival for almost a month now, and I like to share my thoughts on it with you guys.

First of, I'm gonna start with saying that I'm not a huge "sensor-sensei", so I won't be posting paint pics and acceleration stuff etc. You can go look elsewhere for that, I think there's lots of them out there. This will also not be a very "in-depth" review. This is also my first review, so go easy on me!

    Shape & Comfort:

The shape is IMO awesome, and is quite similar to the IE 3.0. This mouse is IMO best suited for palm grippers, as it is quite long with a quite fat back. The rubber side grips really help with grip, and make the mouse really easy to lift up, perfect for low sens gamers. I haven't experienced any particular discomfort with this mouse, and I would like to say that it is the most comfortable mouse I've ever used.

    Build Quality:

This is a bit hard to talk about, as no one has had this mouse for several years, so it's hard to judge if the build quality is good or not. But I would say it seems sturdy and well built for now. Mine does actually not rattle at all, but I've heard that a lot of people's Rivals did this. Might be an early batch fault or something. The coating on top of the mouse is very nice. It's quite smooth, and feels great on the hand. It's also quite sweat resistant. People who found the coating on the Deathadder to be a bit rough, will love this. One thing I have to critize a bit, is that the coating has discolored a bit where my index fingers are clicking the mouse. Not a problem at all for usage etc, but I does not look too good in the right light. Other than that, the build quality and coating is awesome. The teflon feet are also very good. Nice and big, with good glide. The cord is not braided, but it is nice and thick and does not drag, and is very flexible. The place where the cord connects to the mouse is also very reinforced. I don't think the cord will break before anything else.

    Buttons:

The main buttons are a bit stiffer than Omron switches, but are still easy and way lighter to press than Huanos. I found the switches to be great for tap firing, as the travel time is quite low. The side buttons are nice and big, but are IMO a bit too stiff, might get easier to press after some time. The scrolls wheel is awesome IMO. Really smooth, but with distinct notches, and is easy to press down. The CPI toggle button is awesome, and I found it very usefull for programs like Photoshop and Lightroom, where I need precise cursor movements when I edit eyes and irises etc. It's also useful for when you start up a game, and you use a different CPI for desktop usage and gaming.

    Sensor:

I found the sensor to be perfect for my usage, and I did not feel any acceleration or prediction (which isn't supposed to be there according to sensor-sensei's and Steelseries themselves). I also did not feel any "smoothing", which I noticed some people have complained about. I'd say the sensor is almost perfect, or at least VERY good. The sensor works very well at 3200 DPI (which I use for Dota gaming and general desktop usage), and also 1600 DPI (which I use in FPS games and the like).

    Software & Lightning Effects:

The Steelseries Engine 3 is absolutely awesome IMO, and it looks really good, and performs well. It does not use a lot of RAM, almost nothing at all. It's very good looking, and also very functional. Macro's are easy to set up (don't use them though), and it's very easy to change the things the different buttons do when you press them. I also like that it combines all my Steelseries Products into one software. One thing I don't like, is that it opens a new window if you select your Rival mouse, or Siberia Elite headset etc.

The lightning effects are really good, and you can change the colors to what ever you want. The colors aren't 100% accurate, but more than good enough. You can also make it spin through many different colors, and the transitions are very clean and smooth.

    Conclusion:

To conclude, I'd say this is an awesome mouse for people with medium+ to bigger hands. I have 19cm hands from base to tip of middle finger, and it fits me very well. The price is also very good, and you get a lot for your money IMO. People who found the Deathadder to be a bit too small, or have a bit too high "hump", might like this better. I at least did. Feel free to ask me any questions you have regarding the mouse

    I'd give the mouse a solid 9.5/10

    Hey guys!

I purchased the E17 back in December last year, and it only just arrived to me today, apparently the suppliers need a holiday over the Christmas/New years break
My reasoning behind purchasing this is was because my motherboard - while fine for general audio, no hissing, no pops etc, wouldn't drive my HD558s to the levels that I wanted it to go to, which is normally quite loud in my opinion. I also needed something portable to drive my headphones for my S2, also, to the levels that I wanted it to be.

I came across the E17 and after reading lots of reviews I decided to purchase it, it comes in a very sturdy package, with the E17 inside a pouch. When I first got the package, I wobbled it a little bit to see how tight the packaging was, and could feel things moving inside, but on further inspection it was just the various cables that come with it.

NOTE; I'm not an audiophile by any means, I just love all music, no matter the genre, I want to listen to it in perfect quality, how it's meant to be listened to

Upon opening the package I could see a pouch, presumably with the E17 inside it, a plastic bag, containing warranty information, instruction manual, rubber feet for the device, a rubber strap and another level. I lifted this level to find the cabling that comes with the package. The overall build quality of the cables aren't anything special, just feel like normal cables to me. I got a micro-usb->USB cable, an AUX patch cable, and a SPDIF cable.      Inside the pouch was the E17 itself, and the first thing I thought when I held it was that it felt heavy, solid and well-built, the finish on the whole device looks immaculate, and just feels like it's quality made. The buttons don't feel feeble or weak, and have a nice feedback to them when pressed, the screen is perfect size for a portable device. A nice addition was the LED behind the power button, it glows - not brightly, but enough for you to know it's on.      So, I plugged it in, and waited for it to charge up, the manual said that I should wait 3.5 hours for a complete charge, and that was right. I plugged my HD558s into this device, and opened up some nice tracks ranging from classic rock, like meatloaf, to newer bass heavy EDM songs. The volume levels were exactly what I wanted, I could crank the volume all the way up, without any loss of quality, I kept all the settings at normal and the gain at 0x. I haven't messed around with the EQ settings as of yet, but there is a bass adjustment, treble, and balance adjustments. I didn't notice any sound difference apart from volume levels between my on board audio and this device, which is perfect for me.   I feel like I can finally retire my old Technics Stereo amp that is more than twenty years old, and while it's still in immaculate condition, it's taking up too much of my precious space.   Thanks for checking out my overview guys, I'll do a follow up and an update when my friend comes over with higher powered headphones, and when I've used it with my smartphone while I'm out and about and I'll comment on battery life and portability

BlackMirror reacted to TheNinjaNextDor in 1080P 144Hz to 1440P 60Hz: From Smooth to High Res.
I am delivering on my promise that I would post a review/transitional post/rant about the jump from 1080P Asus that ran at 120Hz with a lightboost hack enabled for basically the smoothest experience a monitor can deliver, to a 1440P Asus PB278Q which has a 60Hz refresh rate. I want to note that I am coming from two EXTREMES in monitors. I will not include price in this because it really isn't about even the monitors, just the experience. The only reason they are there is because they are a good reference. This is purely opinion based!
The Asus VG248QE: The Bad: This monitor had a TN panel, and a really REALLY ugly one at that. The colors are terrible and everything just looks bright and not natural. Anything but games looked terrible, and the shiny bezels reflected light when the sun was out. I know that you may think that TN being bad is just a thing that people way, it's not. It really is bad.
The Good: While delivering absolutely horrendous color, this panel was BUTTERY smooth. You felt like you were ahead of everyone else in games like BF4 and CS:GO. Motion blur and tearing were non existent. With the lightboost hack the colors were slightly better (depending on your eyes of course) and the motion blur and tearing were even less bad, if there at all. I would give this experience a 7/10.
The Asus PB278Q: The Bad: Although I have not had this monitor for very long, I can point out some bad things. There are some drawbacks with 60Hz (I know you can OC) and that includes the usual less smooth movement and the branding of this panel not being specifically gaming oriented, but more for professionals who game on the side sort of deal. The good outways the bad in so many ways I can't even tell you. Another bad thing (for some) is that the monitor takes a lot more horsepower to drive in games. I get about 60FPS in BF4 with slightly lower settings than at 1080P.
The Good: This monitor uses a PLS 1440P display with a 60Hz refresh rate. The monitor is completely matte all the way around. The COLORS are AMAZING. In comparison this monitor is just beautiful. The 1440P display is just so nice being PLS is just added amazing. The dreaded 16ms response time and 60Hz refresh rate is just not even noticeable. You have to remember just how short a millisecond is. The most I notice in terms of tearing is that the mouse on the desktop has some blur and I get that in games (OMG) but it's really not at all noticeable. The added pixels and 3" increases the space you have to work with and is a lot better than 1080P but not quite as good as two 1080P monitors for productivity. I would give this experience a 9/10.

Who the smooth 1080P experience is for: This is for the pure gamer, who doesn't care about color accuracy or screen space. This person needs their games on medium settings to get 300FPS and not miss a frame in the game. You want the smoothest experience possible.

Who the 1440P experience is for: This is for anyone who wants to have great colors, making for a better all around experience. You want your games to look good while keeping the competitive edge high. This is also for people who do detailed photoshop work or video editing (though you may want a PAXXXX monitor) and want to get things right.

Conclusion: The 1440P experience wins hands down the all around great award. I have played hours of CG:GO on this monitor and the experience is better than before. I do not notice the 60Hz and 16ms response time making my experience any worse than the 1080P 120Hz. Better even. If you are debating about making the jump from whatever you have but don't know if 1440P is right for you, it likely is. Obviously the new Asus G-Sync 120Hz 1440P (TN) panels will be smoother, i don't care, the experience in gaming, web browsing, and everything in between is better. I hope this helped someone, please share your thoughts on the topic.
