  1. But has there been instances of linux competing, or is it something nearly impossible to realistically do?
  2. I've heard so much about the fantastic audio capabilities of macos, but how about other *nix operating systems? Are they better or worse? And how do they compare to Windows if they are worse?
  3. I have the cards, I dont know how I would go about doing it
  4. Is it possible to sort of switch between gpus for passthrough on linux? I have a 2060 I would like to use for a windows vm, and also a rtx 480 for a macos vm. Is it possible to use the 2060 for linux and windows and then have the 480 for macos, all on the same machine without rebooting?
  5. Is there any other, more accurate physics engine you could use in blender?
  6. I see what you mean with the video, just tried to use Geforce Experience (Didn't Work)
  7. So I really like playing around with soft body physics, but in Blender (my preffered 3d editor) they are just not the best. I saw this about Cinema 4d https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imUThD9XPss&t=82s and right off the bat that looks awesome. Why is this? supposedly they both use the bullet physics engine (https://www.c4dcafe.com/ipb/forums/topic/87706-physics-engine-in-cinema-vs-blender/) and I think maya does too, but why does blender's look so much worse? Is there anyth ing I'm missing? I'm no Blender wizz, so any help to get good results (Plugins, Settings, Anything Else) is appreciated.
  8. Exactly! Wouldn't it be awesome if LTT did a video on making one?
  9. Off topic, but Asrock makes a mATX TR4 board? Thats awesome
  10. Yeah, but the original idea wasn't thin and a wouldn't care if this one wasn't. I just think a custom laptop with and integrated display and keyboard and trackpad and battery that you can put whatever you want (Within Reason) in would be awesome.
  11. So about a year or two ago I saw this website with this guy who was going to make a custom laptop for all or an enclosure or something of that nature, http://www.binari.tech/, but nothing about the idea has sprung up in about three years. I would love to see them build a custom laptop over here at LTT, the team behind the project even made a forum post back with it was still relevant I'm perfectly aware that this is not the most elegant, compact, or cheapest thing to do and it's kind of ridiculous and a little stupid. Techquickie already kind of made a video about it here But come on, wouldn't it be awesome, if impractical?
  12. Yeah, but it doesn't mean its not fun to theorize the best system
  13. I am a student and I have education copies of autocad and inventor from my school, along with a personal educational copy of solidworks. Right now I have a Ryzen 1700 and rtx 2060, but I was wondering how my card compares to rx cards and if a 3000 series cpu might close the Intel Amd gap a bit. Also its interesting to know how the workstation cards compare.
  14. So after watching this video , I got to thinking, with the improvements from higher frequency, and with the higher core counts for other purposes, how would Ryzen 3000 fair against the 8700k/9900k? And does RTX at all close the gap between Amd and Nvidia for consumer cards for workstation use? How to the updated RTX Quadros perform? And what about Firepro cards?
