NVMe it is. But I am not sure wether they support PCIe over NVMe

To clarify: NVMe is just the connector. It can do SATA over NVMe (same speed as the regular sata connector) or PCIe over NVMe (speedyyyyy)

There none! They are just faster and smaller. Newer tech I guess. But it has to be PCie over NVMe

For a new rig yes, for your old one you're probably good with your Sata SSD. buy something else and invest it or some beers

If they're both 1TB and knowing nothing else, I'd get the Optane on the principle that if they cost the same, get the one with better specs.

Otherwise there are some considerations to take account for. Like using an NVMe drive could disable some SATA ports.

NVMe is probably cheap because the technology has matured enough to the point where it can be cheaply mass produced and fewer manufacturers are making SATA based SSDs.

However in most consumer use cases, NVMe has no real practical advantage. That is, you won't really see an appreciable improvement in loading times and whatnot. Unless you're doing something that's moving large chunks of data off the drive to something else that can accept it at full speed, getting NVMe for speed is useless.

    Get a 5700xt.
New architecture looks great, is already fast and will only get quicker. Price/perf unmatched.

I cant get it to pass a Cinebench R20 run @ 4.2 only @ 4.1ghz (which still beats out a i7 8086k @ 5.0ghz so Im extremely happy with that golden sample)  (have screenies of all of this at home if REALLY needed lol)

Also and idea is to switch the slots. Usually the manual tells wich ones to use when using 2 sticks. @Gxarena Check if you did that

Speeds are the same in real world application, for gaming and Windows use.  Only in content creation do you realize the speed benefits.

    He already stated why:

But ya: Intel is the better one. I had 2 devices from Transcend fail on me. Intel: none

I still don't like epic store and stuff BUT that's pretty nice of them

But it begs the question: What do they want to arcive with this? NOOOO company will ever sped that amount of money without a economic interest behind this!
Maybe just to make some good news after the store shitstrorm?  Welllll I guess there is more behind that

I'd look at what options I can afford, figure out what I'd like to do with the PC, find as many benchmarks that are representative of what I want to do on said hardware, and make a decision based on that.

Task manager shows the current DDR speed. It will show 3000 MHz when the RAM is configured properly.

It looks like it'll fit, however I recommend against vertical mounting in a case like that because there's very little clearance between the fans and the glass panel. This will choke airflow to the card greatly.

Hi, I want to replace the fan on a asus crosshair viii hero with a waterblock too. The thing I don't know is the diagonal hole distance for the chipset.
As for the blocks, these things look interesting:
