  2. I'm planning on upgrading from my EVGA 1080 SC, which is currently water cooled along with my CPU, to a 4080 Super. Wondering what's the best 4080 Super for water cooling? Was looking at the reference card but its out of stock in the UK at the moment, should I just go for the cheapest one that has a water block available?
  3. The Gigabyte monitor was definitely the one I was looking at getting out of the three. However, after a bit more Googling and looking at reviews, there are a few people reporting quality control issues. Mainly I’ve seen people saying the backlight bleed is worse than other monitors and they’ve received panels with a decent amount of dead pixels. Haven’t bought monitors in quite a while so is this something to be expected with any monitor from any manufacturer or is it more to do with Gigabytes QC?
  4. I'm looking to buy 3 monitors, predominantly for gaming (mainly simulation, racing and some RPG games) but also for software development and working from home. I would ideally like a 27 inch, 1440p, 144Hz (or greater) monitor and have narrowed it down to these few and unsure which one is best out of them or if there is anything better. Ideally, I would like to spend no more than £300 per monitor.   5. Thanks for saying about the drain port, thought there was something that I was missing. I think I am going to go ahead with the water cooling build, may be able to get similar temps with an Noctua cooler but kinda always wanted to get into water cooling and not really planning on upgrading for the next few years. Only other thing I'm trying to decide on is tubing size. EK's configurator recommends 10/13mm tubing but some people say it can kink more easily. Would it be better to go with 10/16mm tubing instead? EDIT: Meant to say thanks aswell for the recommendation of getting an aquacomputer quadro or octo. I have already got a Corsair Commander Pro which I think does a similar thing? Unless the quadro or octo has additional features.
  6. Ok great thanks. I've currently got a be quiet Dark Rock 3 CPU cooler which I thought (could be wrong) would be good enough. Would a NH-D15 cooler help considerably with temps? I think the case I've got now will fit a 280 radiator in the front as well but that's definitely a good point about needing new blocks if I upgrade. Although, I do tend to wait quite a while before upgrading, went from an i5 2500k to an i7 7700k before, so might be a few years till I think about upgrading again

I am currently running an i7 7700k which I purchased pre-overclocked to 4.8GHz from Scan 3XS Systems a few years ago on sale, installed in an Asus Strix Z270F motherboard, with 16GB of Corsair 3000MHz DDR4 RAM and a bequiet Dark Rock 3 cooler. The temps have always idled around 40 to 45 degrees, reaching around 80 to 90 degrees under load (nearly touching a 100 degrees when running prime95 or cinebench) and since it was under warranty for the past 3 years, which has just ran out, I haven’t been able to consider alternative cooling solutions. Replacing the thermal paste recently with some Noctua thermal paste didn't make much difference, only reducing the temps by a few degrees. I am using a Phanteks Enthoo Pro M case and have 3 Corsair HD120 fans installed in the top as extracting fans, 1 Corsair HD140 in the rear also extracting and 2 Corsair HD140 fans installed in the front as intake all running around 900 to 1000 RPM (only recently purchased these, again on sale, so don't want to replace them ideally). Increasing the RPM of all fans does help with the temps at the cost of noise, and since the system is on the desk, it is very noticeable. I am now considering fulling water cooling the system along with my graphics card, an EVGA GTX 1080 SC Gaming, with the aim of an almost silent system, reducing the temps and also potentially overclocking the graphics card which is currently stock. I’ve picked out the following components which I think are OK from doing some research but since this is my first time doing custom water cooling I just wanted to check if this all looks OK or if there is something that I’m missing or could change for something better?. I wasn't too sure if it would be beneficial to place an additional 280 radiator in the front as well. Ideally, I wouldn’t like to spend more than £500.   9. I am planning on building a micro-atx system using Ryzen 3rd gen, will have to be micro-atx due to size limitations with where the system will be used. The system will be mainly used for software development, basic Photoshop, web browsing and some gaming. I do have some parts that I am planning on using so won't need a graphics card (MSI GeForce GTX 970 4G), hard drives or SSD's, power supply (Corsair CX550) or Windows but would like to get a monitor, preferably a 1440p one which is 27 inches within the budget of £650.   13. Currently, with an i5 2500k @ stock frequency, temps are around 45 degrees idling and reach 70 - 75 whilst gaming. I am planning on upgrading to an i7 7700k or a AMD Ryzen CPU if they are any good, will probably wait and see then if the temps are any different
  14. There cheaper than the AF and SP ones I was looking. Are theses as good and are they quieter when at lower RPM? So shall I just stick with replacing the ones that are in there now?
  15. The Noctura industrial ones? If so, being really picky I'm not too sure about the brown corners on them. OK. If I were to add more fans I would plug them all into the PWM fan hub that is included with the case so the RPM of them all would be lower when the system is under little to no load. So would you recommended to get 7 new fans, stick with the ones that are already in the case or just replace the stock ones that are there now?
