  1. thank you very much for the recommendations! I will consider the change to Ryzen, but the other components definitely make sense and I'll switch them over
  2. I preview my work at ½ scale, and don't need to see 4k on a 4k monitor, but thank you for checking, you make a good point! Would you recommend buying on Black Friday or in February?
  3. Budget: $2100 NZD ($1400 USD) Country: New Zealand Use: Workstation (RAW Photo and 4K Video Editing + 3D Modelling) Other details: Prefer mini-ITX form factor, 1x 1080p IPS monitor, maybe 2x in the future. Upgrading from laptop, Planning to buy on Black Friday for use in February 2021 Hello good people! I am a part time cinematographer and engineering student looking at building a workstation. I require the PC in Feb of next year, but was planning on buying components on Black Friday to save money, unless you guys would recommend waiting (for new releases etc?). My proposed build is below, do let me know if you would recommend any changes! (I anticipate on Black Friday the Motherboard will drop to $180, Cooler to $80 and other parts will drop by a small percent) PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU Intel Core i5-9400F 2.9 GHz 6-Core Processor $230.00 @ PB Technologies CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition 57.3 CFM CPU Cooler $140.50 @ Newegg New Zealand Motherboard Asus ROG Strix H370-I Gaming Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard $272.90 @ Playtech Memory Team T-Force Delta RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory $137.89 @ Aquila Technology Storage Crucial P1 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive $175.00 @ PB Technologies Video Card Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6 GB OC Video Card $429.00 @ PB Technologies Case NZXT H210i Mini ITX Tower Case $208.99 @ PB Technologies Power Supply Cooler Master MWE Gold 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply $148.99 @ PB Technologies Monitor LG 24MK600M-B 24.0" 1920x1080 75 Hz Monitor $221.26 @ Aquila Technology Keyboard Cooler Master MS110 RGB Wired Gaming Keyboard With Optical Mouse $107.57 @ Aquila Technology Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $2072.10 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-11-03 19:45 NZDT+1300
  4. Hey Guys I'm pretty inexperienced in the audio arena, I was looking for a little bit of help! I'm hoping to take an optical (S/PDIF) output from my TV, and then run an 20m optical cable (around the walls) to a couch. Here I was hoping to plug in some form of optical to aux adapter (or DAC). This would be used to power some M40X headphones. I was wondering what kind of adapter / DAC would best suit my needs? Aiming to spend less than $70 USD on the adapter / DAC Many thanks in advance!
  5. I normally work with LiPo batteries (for hobbies) but if they're both 9 cell, they should be the same voltage, which is the critical factor. 7800mah will last longer but is probably larger and might not fit. Check dimensions of your battery bay and then battery size. Check connectors etc. As for if its safe, probably as long as theyre the same voltage as your pre-exsisting battery, but tbh i would just contact your manufacturer and check, or just buy the same batt again.
  6. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FCJrd6 ^ this part list would be lit. much better performance as higher power CPU, but youll have to cash out an extra $100-$150 for a monitor @seon123 I managed to squeeze an i5-7600K and a GTX1060 6 GB but sorta forgot about the monitor!
  7. im working on a PCPP build for you now bud
  8. Thanks so much for your input! Those wide-angle lens's are really expensive!!! I think I will buy both lens's for the a6000, as getting a 16-50mm to be included with the camera is only $100 more or so. Cheers!
  9. Cheers, thanks for your thoughts! Do you find that the 55-210mm zoom lens neglects the use of the 16-50mm? i.e. should I buy both?
  10. Awesome. I also do some theatre work so thats really ideal. Thanks! Do you own one by any chance? And if so, how do you find the lens's? 16-50mm vs 55-210mm?
  11. I am new to the photography scene and I was looking for a new camera for around $700USD. The main purposes would be family use, with a bit of sport photography and film making on the side. I identified the Sony Alpha A6000 as a pretty good mirrorless camera due to its compactness and price. The lens i was planning on using was the 55-210mm lens. However, some cameras in the 'compact' and 'bridge' class touched my eye. Would these cameras be better for my use? Cameras being tossed up: - Sony Alpha A6000 (mirrorless, inter-changable lens) - Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II - Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ100 (4K video) - Nikon Coolpix P900 (83x Optical Zoom) - Canon PowerShot G9 X - Sony CyberShotDSC-RX100 III If there is another camera (of any type) that you think would suit me, or if you have any specific or general experience with these cameras your help would be much appreciated!
  12. thank you so much! I had no idea this existed!
  13. Hi Guys, I was recently intrigued by JayztwoCents video on the "EKWB EK A240G" full kit water cooling loop. I have no issues with the aluminium or whatever, but was wondering about compatibility. I'm all good for CPU, but for GPU I was a little stumped. On New Egg it says it is compatible with reference 1060s and 1070s (which is within my price-range) How do I know if a card is 'reference'? Does this mean founders edition? Or will any GTX1060 / GTX1070 GPU be compatible? Many Thanks in Advance!
  14. I bought a full modular power supply and it comes with all the power cables..... work checking but this is standard practise
