My own laptop brand tier list (Windows laptops), based on their products:

Tier 1: Lenovo, HP

Tier 1.5: Acer, Dell

Tier 2: Asus, MSI

Tier 2.5: Clevo (barebone), Quanta (barebone), Huawei/Honor & Xiaomi/Redmi (can go to tier 2 if after sales are good)

Tier 3: Tongfang (barebone)

Not worth mentioning: Razer, Microsoft

Yeah I prefer to rate models instead of brands, but some may want to know as well

Interesting, I thought you like the barebones brands too?

It's not just the laptop model itself - to me they are still lacking in QA+QC. Also, after sales is a big weakness, no matter how good the reseller is

Clevo should be in tier 2 but their products aren't competitive anymore

-not even a single Ryzen 4000 mobile laptop

-their new thin and light gaming laptop - PC50, don't have good thermals, while many thin gaming laptops nowadays can achieve decent thermals

    -plastic used feels cheap

Some of their new products are half baked:

-Intel 10th gen NH/NP line runs hot, unlike 9th gen, despite decent cooling solution - apparently is a BIOS issue

-NH5xAC/AD/AF is decent, but software is buggy. There are a few issues like 1660Ti GPU runs hot (solved with BIOS update), 3950X incompatibility etc

For Tongfang, I've made a seperate post here: https://linustechtips.com/main/profile/456522-genexis_x/?status=276097&type=status

Not true at all. However I have seen Clevo and Tongfang using thin PCB for their motherboards.
