Not surprising.

Asus low end gaming laptops (FX series) are meh. Mid range ones (GL503/703 CFL-H models) are OK but slightly expensive. Mid-high range like GL504 is a bit disappointing due to price and some issues (cooling related again, sigh). High end range is hit or miss, Zephyrus M is excellent, regular Zephyrus is a bit meh while G series is expensive and not worth it.

MSI is having some trouble with the QC in their gaming laptops recently. They improved the build quality and cooling in the new CFL-H GL and GP models but introduced GV and GF models which is basically the old GL and GP rebrand. Overall lineup is decent though.

Not to mention that both companies have strong fanbase and best in marketing stuffs.
