  1. I'm currently using a Dell 42U Server Rack Cabinet holding Startech Rails that are used with Rosewill L4500 Server 4U Chassis. I've used the reds and have no issues, I was just more interested in knowing why the purples always sells out quickly. Thanks for letting me know it's not you guys! Amazon sucks, as we all know in the first place. Thank you for making such an amazing product!
  2. Hey LTT Crew, So I'm having a hard time understanding why the purple rack studs keep going out of stock. I usually grab my rack studs from Amazon for the Prime perks, but I've noticed both Amazon and your store (was for your store at one point) running low on those purple studs lately. What's the deal with those? Are they really that much better than the red ones? I ended up getting the reds, and they seem to be working fine for my 4U Chassis. I figured since you guys are plugged into the rack studs scene, you might have the lowdown. It's kind of annoying seeing third-party sellers trying to cash in on the shortage with crazy markups. Just wondering if there's any insight you can share or if there's any way you guys could help with the stock issue. No biggie if it's out of your hands, just thought I'd check in.
  3. What OP can do is purchase a broken one on eBay and then use those screws! I'm assuming broken GTX 1660 Ti's would cost less than $40.
  4. That's what I thought! So many people would tell us on YouTube to stay away from it, just like CCleaner!
  5. The Free version does the same thing, just everything isn't fully automatic.
  6. Glad to hear! Make sure to mark my prior comment as your solution, in case others have the same dilemma in the future!
  7. I don't understand by the "compatibility" for a power supply on their motherboard question. Any power supply should do, but you will need something that is going to continue to power the system for over 10+ years without failure. Maybe I'm not understanding something, OP has written...
  8. That sounds like a better choice than your previous one! Good luck, I hope it all goes well for you in the end. Eventually in the future you can upgrade over to a 360mm AIO, but the 240mm AIO is a perfect starter for you!
  9. Alright, well I've seen countless warnings not to use their software since a lot of it is useless nonsense. I haven't touched the uninstaller software other than during the Windows 8.1 era. I personally switched over to Revo Uninstaller Pro since it does all that + backs up my system restore in case something goes wrong. You do you!
  10. I would highly advise not purchasing a Thermaltake PSU... I've seen too many issues with that business to trust their power supplies (even though they are the most commonly used power supplies due to their price...) I would kindly recommend you switching to a Corsair / EVGA 600w model for future proofing. Unless this PC is only going to be used for light gaming / regular productivity, then you shouldn't encounter problems, though I never like seeing consumers purchasing low wattage power supplies (nor do I like seeing someone buying an overly high wattage one either). Obviously, the choice is your in the end, but I'd like to give my input. Here's a link to some possible power supplies in case you change your mind! EVGA 600w Gold Rated Power Supply (Non-Modular) EVGA Supernova 650 G7 Gold Rated Power Supply (Fully-Modular) Corsair RM750e Gold Rated Power Supply (Fully-Modular + ATX 3.0) Corsair RM850x Gold Rated Power Supply (Fully-Modular) I'm very surprised American Amazon doesn't have as good selections as Canadian Amazon has! But these we're the best ones I could find that I personally use for builds.
  11. I would recommend going to a 7800X3D. If you're personally just gaming, then it's the best CPU for dedicated gaming right now. I'm personally running with a 5800X3D and I won't be upgrading for a while! I also upgraded from an Intel i7-6700K before switching over to AMD. It was such a major change for me, but it benefitted me in the end!
  12. Sounds good! Just remember... The higher end CPU you get (especially a x3D chip) will use more wattage and will need a good cooler to cool them. The air cooler I mentioned should do the trick for a 7900X though!
  13. Sounds to me that the graphics card is having a problem displaying on both monitors. Though I have had a few RX 480's in my hands a while ago, I've never dealt with such issues. It could be a sign it's time to upgrade to a newer, more powerful GPU as your card might be on it's last legs. You'll know if it's dead when it starts artifacting and not possibly displaying anything in the future. If you have a decent budget to upgrade, I have included a link to a decent upgrade graphic card for you to buy (Including both NVIDIA and AMD) ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3060 Twin Edge OC 12GB GDDR6 Graphics Card DELL Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB
  14. I would recommend figuring out the amount of fans you can fit inside that case and try messing around with the pressure / airflow pattern that would suit best for your system. The extra 5'C is not a significant bump in temps since it's now more cramped from airflow, which is why it's up to you if you believe it's important to give it more airflow.
  15. The build looks good, though I wouldn't see a reason to use that expensive AIO for the Ryzen 7 7700 non-x CPU. It's close to the price of the CPU itself! I would recommend changing it to something like a thermal right air cooler in white, since I notice your aesthetic choice is a white pc build. Honestly, I would recommend getting a Ryzen 9 7900x / x3D model if you're doing editing, but that's your choice if you have the budget for it.
  16. Oh, well I'll let you know that all of our files gets backed up to our NAS so if the VMs were to break we can easily recover things. It seems like Minecraft & some other games they will be playing are working just fine right now. Even with loads of mods, I see not much of a problem. I'm getting 150+ frames on minecraft and above 60FPs on games like cyberpunk 2077 on medium / low settings. Rarely see any slowdowns or stuttering, too! I will go buy the graphics cards and when I get things all setup, I will get back to you guys with an update.
  17. I second this! You can easily make a tunnel via WireGuard and robocopy it all from your share. I've done it many times before for clients.
  18. How about instead of using Windows 11, you go with something like Windows 10 LTSC or Debian Linux? It honestly depends on what you're looking to do fully...
  19. Totally understand. We're not worried about power efficiency, since you would've seen in my prior post that we're all using extremely low power usage slave PCs / handhelds to connect from. Also, 1st gen thread ripper was given to me from a friend who I helped upgrade to 5th gen thread ripper. So I am just taking what I can get for generally free. The idea is that we all just simply want something that can be split up into multiple VMs for us to do our thing centralized. I understand that Linus wouldn't recommend it since for most people, they should just have a dedicated PC. This is not the case for my family. We're minimalist with a hint of extra techie goodness with the bunch! Regardless, the point is to just have all of our systems on one PC and not have to worry about much. I've run some tests using a spare GTX 1070 and passing it through to the vm, and works perfectly fine. Though, I will use your response with some consideration to possibly purchase a second gen thread ripper 2950x later in the future when it's a bit lower on eBay.
  20. That's what I'm saying! With the 20+ years of experience I have with computer hardware, I've never dealt with something just blowing up with smoke unless something was either tampered with or extremely faulty. I also buy 90% of my used GPUs from eBay and never had such issues with those cards. So this sounds like either severe user error or being scammed with a DOA card.
  21. DON'T USE IOBIT SOFTWARE! Use the built-in uninstaller or use something like Revo Uninstaller.
  22. Funny thing, I never buy from AliExpress. I would've compared LTT Store to other Canadian Stores that use Canada Post for Canadian buyers though.
  23. Theoretically, a lot of people use 70% of ISO to clean their PCs. I don't as I have a stockpile of 99.9% ISO with me at all times, but I know a lot of friends who would douse their parts with 70% with zero issue. I don't condone doing it, though! I cringed, thinking that OP could've plugged the card wet inside the PCIe slot... That still shouldn't of made it burst into flames, though! We need some photo evidence to see what it might have possibly burnt from!
  24. I'm a bit worried you went for a very high wattage power supply for such a system that wouldn't really suck more than 750w really... Since you got custom cables, maybe something is wrong with them. Could you try using the stock cables and see if everything is okay? Worst case, your problem might be one of the following: The CPU is overheating (double-check your temps during a session) The GPU is overheating (again, check your temps with HW Monitor or MSI Afterburner and have it display on the screen) Some other component is overheating or is faulty (sometimes the NVMe drive can overheat and shut the system down, though that would usually result in a BSOD) The Power supply has become faulty Once you figure out the culprit, the good news is that your components have individual warranties! So you can contact the manufacturer of the faulty part and get a replacement from them! I want to remind you though, if it is an over heating problem, you can easily solve that with a new application of thermal paste and check your airflow patterns inside the case! Could you potentially upload some photos of your PC to your post as well? There could be some clues to potentially why this is happening.
  25. Okay, I will relay this information to him and see what he wants to do. Ultimately it is his PC and his choices, I just don't want him to ruin his own experience!
