There is a setting in afterburner to "unlock" the power limit. You have to go check that setting.

Sounds like a great way to end up with a dead GPU. You can unlock the power limit in settings in afterburner.

You can delete all the pre-installed stuff, and if you can't, you can just root or whatever it's called for android and delete it.

Getting an entire new phone and installing a custom OS on it seems a bit...extreme for just "wanting to delete a few apps."

Just put them in a folder on the 8th home screen page and forget about them like the rest of us.

Seems to be very few reviews of them on youtube. None of the puzzle youtubers I watch have done anything with them. Everything online seems to be their own promotional stuff and any "reviews" I can find are just reviewing the kickstarter. (However, those reviews are positive... at least?)

That said, they already have a product out on amazon (which is further than most kickstarters get), (and it's super cheap) so why not just buy one and try it? I mean, it's a puzzle, so long as it goes together I can't really think of anything that'd be wrong with it.

Just google "Data recovery services in my area" and call them.

You'll likely want some place local so you can physically take the drive there. It will not be cheap.

Video Idea: The Grandma PC/No maintenance PC. "Do you have a family member who wants you to build them a PC? Does this family member never manually perform backups and has constantly lost data in the past? Do you want to build them a PC that will be extremely easy to use, require no maintenance, will be a "good PC" for many years to come, and keeps their data safe?"

The main point of this video would be to showcase some lesser shown hardware (lower end hardware, grandma doesn't need a gaming CPU or GPU), and more about useful pieces of software like backup software, maybe some bits about software vs. hardware RAID, which is easier, which requires less maintenance, etc. Options for things like word processing software, which browser would be best for them, etc.

Why? Well, I just did this. I built my mother a PC and asked all of these above questions. I wanted a computer that was as easy to use as possible. Mom is very computer literate, but she's not going to be doing things like installing updates or troubleshooting... anything. So I made sure automatic updates were turned on and setup correctly. Mom has lost lots of data in the past due to... honestly... bad NVME drives. Twice now my family has lost their primary PC data due to failing NVME drives in computers I built. (Well, WELL before their normal failure window.) So this time I decided I was going to setup her computer to have automatic backups that were maintenance free. Furthermore, these backups were backing up to a mirrored drive. There are.... LOTS of ways to do drive mirroring. Which is best? I honestly forget which I went with but after a few google searches I found the one that would be the least troublesome for her. (I think it may have been windows mirrored drive.)

Then, well, backup software. Which one is least intrusive? Which one works best? Which folders should you be backing up? Daily? Weekly? Monthly? Obviously we all know time machine is the gold standard here (because it just freaking works), but how can we get something like that on windows... for free? For the lowest cost? Windows used to have some backup options that are being phased out in windows 11 for some... odd reason.

Furthermore, how do you do this with as LITTLE, or NO monthly fees. Yes, obviously online backup stuff exists (which is what microsoft is pushing), but... grandma doesn't want to be spending her fixed income on subscriptions to 8 different programs just for her computer. (It's crazy that this is even an issue nowadays. Can I not just OWN my pc without having to *pay* for it every month for it to be useful?)

What about... antivirus? Obviously we, as gamers, know that so long as you're not an idiot, you can get by without antivirus. (Well, at least without anything but windows defender.) But for grandma? Yeah, she should probably have some... robust antivirus. Do we need anything additional? Can we get it for free? Is it worth even installing any other antivirus nowadays or is windows defender fine?

What about remote maintenance. Should you install teamviewer or similar so you can remote in when you inevitably need to help out?

If you're having trouble with stuff in windows 10, you're not going to have a good time in linux.

If you hate the terminal, you're not going to have a good time on linux.

I'm going to be 100% honest with you here. You don't seem very computer savvy. I think you're going to have extreme difficulty with linux and just getting stuff to work in general.

EDIT: You can certainly... try... it. Lookup "live distributions" and you can boot into one just by booting off of the usb, but to switch over to linux with so little experience is a bad idea.

How do you have the drive formatted??? Are there multiple partitions? Do you have ntfs drivers installed on your mac or HFS+ drivers installed on your windows machine? Or is it formatted in some kind of FAT?

Just.... just get a esata drive enclosure or you're going to ruin your drive.

You're not losing.... enough to be doing all that BS when comparing USB 3 vs sata. Remember, file copy operations are single threaded in windows, so the difference is.... a few MB/s (a couple %) between USB3 and sata. Obviously the performance gap widens when you use multithreaded transfers, but I doubt you're doing that.

corrado33 got a reaction from Seccedonien in regarding the youtube anti-adblocker pop up
Youtube are rolling out different stages of the adblocker blocker to different groups of users at a time.

At first, I disabled opera's adblocker (and all other rudimentary adblockers) and that worked great w/ ublock origin. A month later that stopped working, so I switched to adguard and that worked great. A month later that was blocked. Etc.

Most likely you haven't been affected yet. They're doing this to confuse people and have people (like yourself) unwillingly gaslighting people to which this is an actual problem. Just because it's not a problem for YOU doesn't mean it's not a problem for everybody. Your experience is not *everyone's* experience.

No, ublock origin by itself does not block this anti-adblocker pop up. (You can add code to it to make it work in some cases.) Even if you disable ALL other adblockers, ublock origin does not take care of the popup. You just haven't been affected yet. Count your blessings.

    Apple makes great products.

Overpriced, a bit, sure, but they make GREAT products. A couple years behind on features? Sure, but they almost always do those features better than anyone else. Do they make controversial decisions? Absolutely, does everybody else follow suit? Yes. Headphone jack anyone? Soldered components anyone? Apple was the one who took the brunt of the ire for these decisions, then virtually everyone followed suit.

That's quite literally what apple does. They take good ideas from android, make them better, and incorporate them into their own phones/computers. The user experience for using an apple product is always miles above a windows or android device.

Heck, furthermore we see windows 11 even reverting to things apple did DECADES ago with a centered dock with small icons? (Yes of course linux did it first but come on, no one uses linux.)

If all the android fanboys out there were correct in that android phones are just *so much better* than apple, then apple phones would not be doing nearly as well as they are. Hell, half the reason android phones DO so well is because android phones make up the entirety of the "low cost" segment for phone sales, where as apple's like "na, I don't want to sell there."

And finally... their ecosystem. The fanboys probably don't like to admit it, but apples ecosystem goes far beyond what's on iphone. Final cut and logic pro are both literally top tier (if not the best) software in their respective markets. Time machine is, by far, the best backup solution... anywhere for consumers. Airpods are quite literally ubiquitous, even for people without iphones or macs. "Find my" works extremely well for ALL apple products, and while similar things exist for android, they're not as good. Apple stuff works extremely well together. Handoff between phones and computers is seamless. Stuff just... works. Will you eventually have a problem? Sure, doesn't everybody? But it still just works.

Like, I just don't get it when people say that "Apple sucks, their products suck, blah blah blah." They clearly don't.
