  1. Hi guys, seems like the discussion is going abit off here haha... Let me clarify here: 1. My main purpose of upgrading to an UW is for my productivity, not gaming. 2. I wish to have better experience on the side of productivity(Video editing, reading) and I don't really care of the game resolutions that my GTX1060 can handle since I'm not a hardcore gamer. The games I play are graphics less intensive such as Dota 2 and CS:GO(I can play them with 1080p res, no prob at all). That's all. With that said, will the 1440p version outweigh the 1080p version? Is it worth to spend around 200USD more to get 1440p version?
  2. That means if I feel that 1080p on a 27'' is sharp enough, basically this also applies to 34'' UW?
  3. So probably I'd stick to the LG34UC79...haha thanks mate for all the advice.
  4. Yep, considering I'm using only a GTX1060 3GB from Gigabyte, 1440p would be a big stumbling block to handle that monitor. Do you agree?
  5. May I know approximately how far do you sit from your monitor? I want to compare if your seat distance is similar to mine so I won't notice those grainy pixels since you seem to be happy with your LG34UC79 purchase Thanks!!
  6. I've done research on the brands you mentioned but unfortunately those monitors are not being sold in my country (Malaysia) and I'm really worried of importing one due to shipping costs, warranty and these monitors are fragile.
  7. Yea, that's my initial thought of getting 1440p and I don't mind about refresh rate. But the price difference between 1080p at 144Hz and 1440p at 60Hz is day and night. The latter is much more expensive.
  8. TBH, I don't like bezels between monitors so having dual-monitor setup is never gonna be my choice. BTW, you said that you experienced both these monitors before and for you, how bad the pixelation issue would be on the 1080P model and how noticeable it would be if I sit further than 50cm from the display? Thanks
  9. Hi guys, I'm at the crossroads of which ultrawide monitor I should buy and I never had a chance to test and see them in person. I don't know if there's a huge difference between 1080p and 1440p ultrawide monitors and I wish to get some advice here. Not only that, the price difference between them is very big as well.
  10. Halo, when will these Halos be sold in Asia, cmon Phanteks. Truly beautiful. Has anyone here bought them?
  11. As mainly I do video editing, some programming and reading. I don't do gaming too often TBH. And those games I play are less graphic intensive games like Dota 2 and CS:GO.
  12. I don't do gaming too often so refresh rate won't be a consideration for me lol. thanks for your opinions
  13. I dislike multiple monitor setup because of those bezels...thanks anyway. In my area, it's very difficult to find a retail shop that can let me check it out in person. how sad...
  14. 150-200USD, living in Malaysia so probably the currency would be around 1000 Malaysian Ringgit. I found one LG 29'' ultrawide which is quite interesting and I could get it around 800 Ringgit Malaysia (190USD) after applying the coupon on it. Just not so sure if I should pull the trigger. thanks
  15. Hi, I'd like to ask is it worth to make an upgrade of my current 24'' monitor to a 29'' ultrawide monitor? I tried to do a comparison on displaywars.com and to be honest, I didn't find too much of screen size improvement but I really need some extra space to get my productivity enhanced. Also, is there any current 29'' ultrawide that features 1440p resolution? At least I couldn't find one. Some of you might suggest going the extra mile, picking up a 34'' ultrawide instead but I'm totally out of budget LOL. If the upgrade isn't worth on the 29'' monitor, probably I will just abandon the upgrade. Thank you.
