Very small difference and probably zero difference when you overclock both.

Gaming X probably have better RAM chip but don't quote me on that.

Not to mention your current proc will definitely bottleneck the Fury more than the 480.

So if you have no plan to upgrade your CPU in near future or/and play at 1440p, I suggest grab the 480 8gb.

Just an example, you can mod a BIOS and heavily downclock it just to get "high offset" for e-penis bagging.

Derp A: Mine can overclock +400mhz after BIOS mod, if i use original BIOS it only overclock +50mhz.
Derp B: Noice! What is the final clock speed?
Derp A: 1450Mhz for both BIOS.

From your video i noticed couple of software use quite a bit of CPU power like MSI Gaming OSD, Gaming App, Origin, QTWebHelper(Origin related). Can you close all of those program and take similar video but this time with the CPU tab sort from Highest to Lowest?

Also can you download HWINFO64 and check if your CPU is not throttling while gaming? https://www.hwinfo.com/download.php

Are you on the latest 16.12.1 driver? Did you uninstalled Raptr/AMD Gaming Evolved/Plays.TV? You won't be needing those.
If you're on 16.12+ driver, try disable AMD Relive and XBOX DVR function.

Thanks for all the input and feedback till now! I figured out that some of the programs take way too much load on my CPU. I uninstalled some of those programs (the one having the most impact is Intel Small Business Advantage). In Idle, my CPU load was 35%, now it is around 1 to 4%.
Also I did scan with Malwarebytes.
To conclude, I have seen my FPS now at a steady 80-100 FPS (high settings, 1080p), instead of 50-70 with drops below 30.
I am probably going to wait for AMD ZEN, and to see what that brings (in terms of, how are those CPUs and maybe a price drop of the Intel CPUs).

All these claims ultimately come from one source, which has not revealed any evidence, and so all these claims are band-wagon hearsay.

I see these reports as part of Biden's clumsy promise of USA retaliation for Russia making the USA look bad over, and over, and over.

The outgoing USA administration has just a month and some days to make good on their word.

The negative coverage of Aleppo rebels being defeated and Aleppo liberated is also a part of the same anti-Russia propaganda effort.

All anyone has to do to discover that there is a coordinated Western-media propaganda blitz happening right now over the defeat of the rebels in Syria, is google-search "meltdown of humanity," without even including "Syria," "Aleppo," or "Assad" in the search. Doing so will net a deluge of pages all featuring the same sensationalistic headline, and journalism spin about the liberation of Aleppo.

The coordinated propaganda "meltdown of humanity" headline is meant to put up a wall against people's ability to consider anything different.
Sadly, this is typical Western mainstream media.'

xAcid9 reacted to HKZeroFive in AMD Preparing Crimson ReLive Driver Update - Comes with ShadowPlay Alternative
Alright, so I think I'm safe when it comes to reposting because I've been scanning the first two pages of the Tech News and Reviews section and used the Search tool vigorously and haven't found any actual 'news' posts... needless to say, I'm a bit late to the party. Oh well.

So there's a little 'rumour' (well, it's safe to say that it's real at this point of time) that outlines a massive driver update from AMD that will bring many new features and game optimisations, not unlike Omega and Crimson. It's created a lot of hype and rightfully so, because it also marks the integration of AMD's new capturing tool that will be the long awaited answer to NVIDIA's ShadowPlay - "Radeon ReLive". Anyway, I hope this post helps you understand what exactly the Crimson ReLive update will bring.

    RADEON RELIVE
Radeon ReLive will be AMD's take on ShadowPlay and hopefully replace Plays.TV altogether. AMD promises that it will have a minute performance impact (somewhere in the ballpark of 1-3%) so it's not different from SP at all in that regard. But most importantly, it requires no registration which is essentially a big 'F U' to NVIDIA, unintended or not. Awesome.

    RADEON CHILL

Radeon Chill will apparently regulate framerate based on in-game movement, in which AMD claims that it will increase efficiency by up to 31%, decrease temperatures by up to 13% and reduce frametime delivery to display by up to 32%. Looks like AMD put that HiAlgo tech to good use. Fantastic.

RADEON WATTMAN NOW SUPPORTS RADEON 200/300 AND FURY SERIES

For those who are missing out on WattMan with their older AMD graphics cards - fear no more. Now you can undervolt or overclock your AMD hardware to your liking. Beautiful.

FREESYNC NOW SUPPORTS BORDERLESS WINDOW MODE
A huge welcome by users who prefer borderless mode... I believe this is one of the advantages G-Sync had over FreeSync. Not anymore. Exquisite.

4-8% PERFORMANCE GAINS IN CERTAIN TITLES
Not unlike Omega nor Crimson. Sweet.

    BUG FIXES
Your standard bug fixes that practically come with every driver update. No fusses here. Great.

Thoughts: AMD went up and beyond to deliver a fantastic driver update with their own answer to Shadowplay. The hardware encoding improvements look promising but Radeon Chill looks especially interesting. Can't wait to see how that turns out.

AMD's driver game has been great from what I've heard and seen, and judging from the many, many problems/issues on the side of the Green Team, it looks like they're running away with the 'Best Drivers' award. Good on you AMD. Hope the driver update is as good as it sounds.

Yes, Async-Compute on Maxwell will actually cripple the card performance when use heavily but the card excel in DX11 and if the game offer both DX12/DX11 then just stick with DX11 like in BF1.
