I am highly considering building a home server. My needs/useage of it would be: Rip and backup my 400+ DVDs and 30-50 BluRays for use with PLEX Act as backup for my pictures/documents etc from my PC. Act as a backup Pictures/Documents etc from my wife's Mac. MAYBE: Act as a home base git repository for some dev work that I do. I am trying to figure out the smallest footprint system that will have the capacity and ability to suit my needs and for the best price. I don't want to build so light that I can't upgrade in the future but on the same token I don't want 100TB of storage if I only need 10TB. Anybody care the chime in with thoughts? I know I am really thinking about unRAID as it seems to have everything I need and looks to scale well when I decide I want to add a new feature.

I would be getting a N64 and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for my Adopted Dad. Because this is what he got me our first Christmas together back in 96?... 98? We spent sooo much time binge gaming on this. I think he would get a kick out of it. We later lost weeks of our lives on Majora's Mask. He was the tech savvy one now a little less so much like Linus mentioned in his family although he still does pretty good. The link to the Amazon listing is here. http://amzn.to/1Rpzmfn Hopefully a trustworthy seller.

I currently have an H80i and it works well other than when it first turns on/wakes up it powers on at 100% so its freaking loud. I heard the Dark Rock Pro 3 in terms of cooling efficacy is farily close to the H80i, but is it in terms of sound?

I was thinking about 'upgrading' my PSU to a full modular unit and maybe something a wee bit smaller. This is what I have... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139028 This is what I was looking at getting... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817256116 My current system specs are as follows. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/wGG6WZ While I realize it is a 100W reduction it total power it seems to be 100W +- 15W more than I need according to PC Part Picker. Its a bit smaller and its modular. The point of this was to get a little more room in my case and clean up the cable management. Thoughts and or advice is appreciated.

Hoping for a LIAN LI PC-O5SX, PC-O6SX, PC-O7SX review

Oh I know but Hardware Canucks, Tek Syndicate, JayzTwoCents, AwesomeSauce, and Linus always bring differing points of views. Generally I watch reviews of an item from 3 or more trusted sources before making a buy. -
That is going to suck as she runs a little side business from home and more so while doing here regular job so the laptop was key.

Thanks for all the quick replies. I meant to mention I saw the videos. I didn't know if it could/would short being on though as cell phones are often 'on' when they get submerged. I thought shorting to the point of frying something was only characteristic of AC power and with DC the short only occurs while the shorting substance (water) was still present.

I figured I would put this here as I haven't yet began to work on this. I received a text from my wife about an hour ago saying the new kitten jumped up on the table and knocked over a glass of water on the the keyboard of her Sony Vaio Flip 14. Which as it turns out is one month out of warranty. She said it was not plugged in to the wall but it was powered on and when it got wet it shut off. I won't get home for another 6 hours yet. I told her not to try to turn it back on and it doesn't have a removable battery. My theory is that being that it was on DC power this should be similar to a cell phone in that I just need to leave it off and dry it out, like one might do in a bin of rice with a cell phone. Any guidance is appreciated.
